I was thinking that I read somewhere that most businesses in the area would take either country's currency.
They usually will, but will generally give you the worst exchange rate.

Using your credit card is the best bet, going to a bank near the border is your next best bet.

Any idea how much gas in in Buffalo ??? ???
Yesterday, the station around the corner from me was $2.159, and the one a little further down the road was $2.179.

Try to fill up before you hit NY, the taxes are generally higher here. :6:

Good question. I would like to know too. Would it be possible to get some type of "group" discount if we all stay at the same location?

I am only guessing but.

The rooms will be a group rate with discounts for pre-regerstrations? before assigned dates.

And activites will be schedualed as groups if you like?(ex Maid of Mist Boat Ride)

There are links to resorts posted.
Again I am just looking for a general #

AGAIN THIS IS ONLY GUESSING. Any help would be appreciated.

That's real? I thought it was made up for the movie "Bruce Almighty" :2:

There will be discounted pricing on the official hotel. (Same as last year, and details will be on the http://www.avscruiseniagara.com website.)

Attractions will be on your own, not as a group. There are plenty of things to do (Don't miss the Maid of the Mist, it's real, and it's awesome!) and like last year we will try to get discount coupons to many of the attractions.

A meal or two might be included in the registration, but generally you will be on your own for food.

It is a tourist area, with lots of attractions and tourist traps and trinket shops. The area is generally expensive, as any tourist area can be. You can spend as much or as little as you wish. Putting a dollar figure on it is hard.

Last year, apart from hotel and registration costs, I spent about $50 for the weekend. (But then I live very close and had seen it all before, so besides going out for dinner I didn't do much.) >:D

The best thing to do is pretend that it is a family vaction to a hot tourist spot. How much do you usually spend on a long weekend vaction trip with the family?

Looks like it is going to be a family vacation for me! I hope I don't spend what we usually do though...

I've spent more than enough money there over the years. Whenever we have out-of-town company, they always want to see the falls, and we always take them.

My son is to the point where he doesn't think much of them, and would rather not go on the excursions. His take on it (in the most un-enthusiastic voice possible) "It's water. It falls."

I still look forward to any trip, as the falls and the surrounding area are spectacular. But you just can't do every attraction on every trip. This time, I'm definitely making time for a ride on the Maid of the Mist, I haven't been on it for years...

As nice as the falls are, however, it pales against the awesome sight of so many Avs!
