Video Monitors

I am wanting to add a overhead video monitor for my son (22 months old). eBay has a bunch of them listed really cheap, but I wondering how good or bad they are. I noticed most of the do not list the contrast ratio which I know is important for the LCD monitors.
Has anyone ever seen any of these in action? There are many to choose from, but I imagine a lot are manufactured by the same plant.
I plan on installing the overhead monitor, buying a VCR for now, or even using my digital camcorder for playback for a while until I decide that this stuff is worthwhile in the truck.
Also, what screen sizes has anyone seen? am thinking a 7 inch widescreen would suffice. Comments?

Can you give me some examples of which ones on ebay that way we can assess the quality? 7 inch should be fine. I have a 5.5" in the Porsche and have a seen a custom 9 inch in a Bentley. Don't think your 22 month old will complain much about the size! ;D

I am not familliar with the brands but #1 & #2 seem ok on the surface. I like #1 for being active matrix. Who you buy from is also important. He has much feedback and most is positive. He does squaretrade and a few other things that I think this guy is serious and can be trusted. #2 is too new to buy from. I also sell on eBay and I know what's involved in getting that status.

I really like #1 personally and if I thought I could mount it someplace...What I really want to figure out some day is mounting a screen flush where my CD holder is down by the cup holders.

I would suggest you keep looking and look at all options and possibilities. Check out the usual sites. Previous poster suggested x10.com so I will suggest www.smarthome.com for your reading pleasure.

Hope this kinda helps. :cautious:

Oh, I am an eBay-er! Need no help there!
Thanx, I'll look further into number 1.
