Just wanted to share my impressions on the Waag grill guard I installed. Bottom line, I love the look and the quality is excellent. Product came well packaged without any defects. The only difficulty I had during the install was that the tolerances for the main frame brackets seems very tight and I had trouble getting the bolts started without mangling them too much. I managed, but it was kind of annoying for a little while, and they did cross threaded once or twice due to the tight tolerance, but I figured it out in the end. Actually just switching the bolts around to find the right combo was all I had to do. Not all bolts are created equal I guess. Pic attached, I think.

I just purchased the WAAG front runner, it will take a couple of weeks for delivery. I'll remember your bolt alignment post when
it comes time to mount it.

Here ya go...WAAG grill, PIAA lights, Tirechains on, LOTSA Yosemite snow!

gunslinger45 or anyone -
did you all get the 3-piece or the 1 piece. Any major cosmetic differences?? 3-piece seem cheaper to ship. I am still holding out for a stealth bumper - but if the wife does not quit spending my money - I may have to just get the waag. I have their nerf bars and like them a lot.

I went with the 3 piece. The one piece was too much to purchase and to ship. The only thing about the 3 piece is the cosmetics with the bolts holding the two end pieces together. I have tried looking for some covers to put over the nuts, but have had no luck. I found chrome, red, blue and other colors but no black. Is there anybody out there that might know where to get some?

has anyone seen the waag brush guard on a wbh av, i have been trying to find some pics but have come up empty. thanks.

I have the WAAG front runner. You wont be dissapointed. It gives a little extra protection and unlike the one Gunslinger45 used, it wont destroy your hood, fenders and grill if you do make contact. I had a front runner on my 02 and got rear ended so hard I was pushed into truck in front of me and Waag Front runner got destroyed but the rest of the truck was unhurt (front anyway). Those big ones tend to destroy everything and since I do not go into brush they would not serve no purpose for me anyway. No offense to you Gunslinger45 on your choice, it does look good.

Cad,

I do agree with the full size grill if one hits. There might be frontal damage. But, hopefully there's distances in front, when that happens. I figure I go overkill on mind. Since it's a Combo of the Waag grill and Front runner has in my sig.

Cadboy, where did you get your front runner? I have been considering one for a while but they are still so darn expensive for such a simple piece of fabricated steel. Also do they have tabs to mount lights on?

One other thing to consider, guys with the fullsize brushguards (especially the bumper replacements)- is that they completly alter and sometimes ruin the vehicles "crumple zones" in a crash and can cause more injuruy to the occupant than not having one. Just something we studied in engineering school. Food for thought, anyway.

I will have to agree WAAG grill gaurds to me follow the AV body lines the best, I also got the rear bumper guard, but it was a piece of cake to put on
