Been there, done that... 3 times!!! :E:

1st time, a Bird hit the windshield on my old Explorer (The truck made me hate fords) and ripped the fm antena off too...

2nd time, a bird hit the front of my old Frontier and scratched the hood...

3rd time, a bird hit the windshield of my AV but, no damage...

On a side story my dad was driving his old Suburban he use to have and bird hit is windshield and actually hit hard enough that the mirror fell off!

P.S. That Suburban was my favorite truck, 1985 2500 Super Sport with a 454 and dual strait pipes with dual 44inch long custom made cherry bombs... Ah, that thing was a tank and loud!!! My dad would not sell it to me at the time cause he siad it was to big for me to have cause I was only 19... Damn him for selling it to some old guy who probably trashed her... :6:

Damn bird just pulled a kamikaze....I would've swerved, but then I realized I'd probably just flip ;D

does our man in the field have a Satalite uplink in his AV for hanging out on the forums??? ???
Last I checked, dial-up and fast access were not available in fields... >:D

When I was 11 or so, we were driving through Nevada in our Volvo station wagon when from out of the blue BOOM!!! A pheasant flew headlong into the windshield. Cracked into about a zillion pieces, thankfully it held together in one piece.

Freaked us out..I about wet my pants. lol. We all go out to look at there was this pheasant just smeared all over the car. The windshield was not only broken, it was covered in bird remnants...after hitting the windshield it went and splattered all over the roof and back of the car. Totally disgusting. :D:

The past two weeks, I've been fighting with crows. I park in an open area, no overhanging structures. But I get droppings like crazy on the cargo covers & saliva on the back glass.
Finally, came out at lunch and found out what was going on. Seem there's a particular crow, who's been dancing up a storm fighting with it's own reflection on the back glass. I now park where the back glass doesn't reflect the sky.

Don't know. But I had walked up to the tailgate and try to keep from laughing. He was just jumping, pecking at the reflection. I'm sure that beck of his was sore. He kept shaking his head everytime he peck at the reflection. Finally notice me and took off.

Ya know I hit TWO birds this week.

Flew right across my path into the grille. I figure it's nature's way of getting rid of the stupid ones. 6000# blue beast at 45 mph vs a little bird - you guess the winner. >:D

I was just hoping they didn't stick and start to stink in the garage. They must have fallen out, as I don't see anything or smell anything.

Ghost hit a bird that did get stuck in the passanger side of the grille. It was in the road and went to fly out of way of the monster av but snoozed and losed. Got wedged between the grille headlights on his way up to leave.

Consider yourself lucky.
An owl hit our AV right in that leading edge portion of the hood.
Nice dent there instead of in the replacable grill.

Are you sure it wasn't an Al-Queda terrorist bird trained in Afganistan by Osama? Quick, go to Orange no wait pink? or is it SOM alert level. Dang I can never keep those straight.

If we are lucky it was just a self motivated but depressed save the planet pigeon and not an ELF trained anti-SUV assasin bird.
