I know there is supposed to be some water under that mat. I'm concerned over the time water is increase the chances of corrosion. Should I be concerned? I plan to keep the Av for a couple of years at least. Should I have the bed sprayed and then have the mat on top? Would this impede the water managment system?

This has been discussed many times and well I have had mine for over 2 years and no rust...

Since GM knows there will be water under the mat and have told us it is normal then I think they have it covered as they do not want to be fixing them ......

All their concern would be is that the bed remain solid for the duration of their warranty coverage. Beyond that, their interest would be somewhat leaning towards convincing you of the need to replace the vehicle ;)

I had that same concern. So I bought some sound deading paint from Fat Mat. Once I rolled that on, I sprayed it down with a liquid bedliner. I'm not worried about the moisture and rust anymore. And I can tell a difference when I drive with the lower mid-gate open.
