some guys come to my building to wash and wax the pros who work here every week and I got mine washed and waxed.  a partner at my firm was telling me waxing a new car is bad.  this is the most bizarre thing ive ever heard.  correct me if i'm wrong, but waxing a car is very beneficial for the paint job if it is exposed in the sun, yes?

one can wax any new car...

the paint is cured at factory..

wax is a sacrifical layer that is eaten up in lieu of clearcoat.
It wears off, washes off and/or  evaporates.

it also looks shiny...

If the car is right-off-the-line new, then maybe waxing right away may inhibit the paint from fully curing. Now if your new vehicle has been on a dealers lot for a couple of months there is no reason why you can't wax it as soon as you want.

If you get an area repainted or a new paint job the shop will usually tell you to avoid waxing for x number of weeks while the paint fully dries.

What is the general opinion on wax...

Is Carnuba still well regarded?

Carnuaba is the best natural wax

but does not last long especially in very hot areas...

Polymers provide better protection and last a long time..

the look is different to some so some prefer one over the other...

How about the GiGi Waxing Kit

Sorry...Every time I see this threads subject line something other than the original intent always seems to come to mind.

See, and you thought Hiedi said it was a hot oil treatment            :kidding:  i hva eno room to talk anymore!

If you want something that will outlast a wax job, unless you want to use a pure carnuba then it will take hours to cure properly....
I would suggest going to a paint gloss sealant they out produce waxes 20 to 1.

Later....

what do you recommend?

I use Wolfgang it produces the best shine I think, two stage process....
Klasse is good also but not good for inexperience detailers.....can make a finish look worse if not used right...

Later.......

I have been using this for the past year or so.? I also like NXT, just doesn't last as long.? I have always been sold on Meguiar's products.? Of course, you get the Zaino people (great stuff too) and Klasse and Wolfgang as well.? I also use Meguiar's professional line of car shampoo and detailing products that are great too.? I order direct thru Meguiar's direct.

Zaino takes way too long and you can get the same results with a lot less effort..with all of the other products out there....

Do not like Meguiar's polish for one reason, because it contains synthetic polymers which will it time ruin your paint job.....

Just do your home work before going out and purchasing Paint sealants, some do not help your paint in the long run..

what about eagle one nano waz is that any good ???

I've used Eagle One Nano on both of my vehicles, I find it doesn't last as long as a paste wax. Much, much easier to apply.
