WBH And Rigid Bed Cover?

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the three piece rigid cover with the WBH option? I know it is not included but can't determine if it is even an option.

Anyone familiar with the soft cover?

Yes, on the WBH Avalanche the hard cargo cover is standard. It is a separate delete item and drops the MSRP down another $600.

The soft cover is of very high quality and I've not read any major complaints about it. It's stowing and removal is more complicated than the hard covers, however there appears to be less leaking issues because it's one piece versus three.

So to clarify - the WBH Avalanche saves you $600 off MSRP, if you also delete the hard covers you save another $600 off MSRP. BTW - the hard covers are over $1,200 parts alone - so IMHO if I was buying a WBH Avalanche, I'd go hard covers.

Thanks for the response. I actually prefer the hard cover but couldn't tell from gmbuypower if it was even available. I do find it funny that WBH deducts 600 but to get the rigid cover you add the 600 back so you are right back to the same price.

I am anxious to order a new AV....I finally sold my wife once the WBH option came out. All she wants is to see one for real first. Isn't marriage all about compromise?

I think its $600 off for the WBH, plus $600 off for the soft cover. So, you still save $600 with WBH plus hardcover. Hope that makes you feel a little better. I plan on buying with the hardcover as well.

Show her the lower door dings on most trucks and let her see how well the cladding works in a parking lot (even with shopping carts!). She can park near the entrance again.

Cladding...it's not just for off road anymore ;)

No, no, no. They deduct $600 for WBH - but you STILL get the hard cover STANDARD. If you delete the hard cover they take another $600 off for $1,200 off the MSRP. So it's not giving you $600 to take it away again. ;D

Sounds a little drastic--wow, you must really want a WBH AV!

What can I get for a wife and two kids?

Thank goodness for Windows XP--my wife doesn't know my password. If she read this, I will be sleeping in my AV tonight. But then again....

I don't know what I did with my avalanche brouchure, but when I was shopping for my AV, I do remember reading something that made me think that it was -600 for WBH and that the WBH had the soft cover standard.

Maybe the General needs to clarify it's marketing materials??

Soft covers droop and water pools in the middle of the bed cover streatching them out. Plus they are not secure.

Hard cover is the only way to go.

You are correct that the WBH was advertised without the 3-piece hard cover. The Avalanche brochure the Chevy salesman gave me last week says the 3-piece cargo cover is not included with the WBH package, which is confusing to any prospective buyer. Makes you wonder when the brochure was published and who wrote it.

The brochure was created well before the WBH model was available - in print in August of 2002. It is very common in the auto industry when a product line is updated that there are changes. This is why you will never, EVER see MPG in a brochure, they don't know the numbers when it goes to print and it's subject to change...
