I just wanted to let every one know today when I went to work on my desk here is a GM email
Chevrolet Avalanche Price update
WBH -600
Soft Cover -600
Running Bords +585 (only black)
I just thought that every one would like to know the prices

I'll take the cladding thank you very much. It seems like for just $600 more, you get much, much more WITH the cladding.

Bummer, I thought it would be more. Actually it should be more, because it appears as though you also get non-color-matched mirrors and molding. Wonder how much weight it saves? Also wonder what the Ground Effects option is. Cetainly nothing a true Avver would be interested in, but maybe us WBH'ers might.

BTW.....WBH still shows N/A on Edmunds. FYI...the Ground Effect Package (GND) has a "{DIO}". Anybody know what that is? There's a couple other options with it too, and not just the N/A ones. :B:

OK, this was really just a shameless post to see what happens at "100". I'm a Bar Fly and I don't even drink! :-X

Reaching barfly status gives you the right to at least one beer or mixed drink of your choice.....congrats on your progression... :B:

Avalance-

Thanks for the info. I am one of the few interested in the WBH; good to know I will save a few bucks.

Pdxkevin, If I'm not mistaken, that's a photo of Vivian Campbell. I think you meant this photo. And look, he's even chatting away at CAFCNA...

FWIW, my wife saw a new WBH Av on the street here in Omaha this morning  while taking my daughter to school. I'm pretty confident she knows what she saw, as we've been discussing them for awhile. I didn't think they would be around until after the first of the year.

Like me, she doesn't care for the look at all.

not to fight with you but the WBH is not out tell January 1,2003 you can order them now but they will not be at dealers tell January

Avalance-

Are you sure on that delivery date? I was under the impression they wouldn't be available until late February. I hope you're right. I'm getting tired of driving my little Nissan around.

WBH.....is not going to become available for sometime....could it have been a Silverado that was seen?....The naked Av's are still 2 months away from hitting the streets... :B:

Can we be absolutely sure of this? Remember the yellow 2002 that Gandolph photographed while in Michigan a few months ago? Another member mentioned that some items are available to the bigwigs as program cars before general release.

In all honesty, the cladded AV took awhile for me to get used to and after initially not liking it, I grew to like it over time.

The WBH AV I didn't like at first, it seemed like a step backwards for the AV. However I am starting to accept it too. We've really only seen a limited number of pictures, AV colors and positions.

I think the WBH AV will become a more popular choice for companies buying a work truck over its cladded cousin and the desire for the reduced cost... black mirrors, door handles and whatever else. My only real complaint about it is that they gave it the Silverado grille instead of the Avalanche grille.

I think the combinations of a Silverado with Silverado Grille, Avalanche will Silverado Grille and Avalanche with Avalanche Grille is going to be a nightmare for aftermarket accessory makers, and potentially fustrating for consumers too. Plus it also further separates the Cladded AV and WBH AV into two separate and unique vehicles instead of sharing the same look and identity.

Imagine this scenario... customer walks into a store and says "I'd like to buy a brush guard for my AV."

Then gets asked "Do you have cladding or WBH?" "Do you have the light grey cladding or the dark grey cladding?" "Do you have the 1500 or the 2500?" "Do you have the Avalanche Grille or Silverado Grille?"

If they're buying it for business/work purposes it won't really matter, but if the average truck guy buys one, and they don't visit the site regularly (GASP!) I could see where they could develop some fustration while trying to mod/accessorize their truck.

If I got rid of the cladding I'd have to change my Av's name from The Cladinator!

Ronny James Dio - haven't heard that name in a long time - I have a couple of his Rainbow records from years back. Of course I have no turntable that works to play them on....

Maybe you could change the name to "De Cladinator." You just have to say it in your best Arnold Schwartzenegger voice.

From the pictures I've seen of the Av without body armour....it just seems too naked...like they forget to add something...for some reason all that sheet metal just sticks out to me.....If someone had asked me how I felt about the WBH Av....I would have to say it's just not the same.... :B:

NJAV ... I know what you mean. My cruise AV group photos will never be the same :(

I am convinced that folks that aren't familiar with the Chevy truck line...are going to mistake the WBH Av for a Silverado.....especially since the Silverado has been being marketed pretty aggressively..with it's cosmetic enhancements.... :B:
