WBH rear bumper R & R?

I did a couple of searches but did not find anything specific to removal and replacement of the rear bumper on a WBH...

Does anyone know if the ring for the "spare tire lock thing" has to be cut off for a WBH bumper removal - the same as for the cladded version?

Shouldn't need it. Would be same for Tahoe/Suburban right down to the part #, and conceptually also the same as Silverado.

Yeah, I agree that it should be the same for those other models. But shouldn't every model need the retaining ring that keeps that darn thing in place? Seems like it would exist on all Chevy bumpers that incorporate that feature, not just cladded Avys.

I'm probably going to be helping another member r & r his bumper and I don't want us to run into any nasty surprises along the way. Especially if we have a modding GTG at a local park!
