Then why the big deal about STI?

I'm pretty sure that if someone wanted to dub that particular event "national" there is nothing that CAFCNA could do about it.

But again, what do I know  :deadhorse: :offtopic:

Here we go again...Round 2 :beating: :jacked:

No no.. That is/was not the intent...  Just a followup on the why one can be called Nationals and another can't.
Hell, they could have been promoted together and made East Coast and West Coast Nationals respectively.

Uuuuhhhmmm, mmdavidw we don't still drive chuckwagons and work as cattle pokers here in the ole Midwest.  >:D :beating:  Not just farmland out here buddy.  Come by one day, I'll buy ya a beer and we can chat about it!!  OK, how about Colorado...... much better scenery and still closer to most.

I just drove to Copper Mountain in CO, then up to WY and SD and back home.... I drove through TN,KY,KS, OK, AR, MN, IA, OH, WV, VA, NC .... gotta tell ya KS and OK were the most $$$ in tolls :(  and the drive we took across KS sucked ... i'm sure there's some cool stuff in KS and I'm not even claimin to have seen much of it, just that the interstate I was on was boring driving ;)

For anyone thats interested, that was about $987 in gas alone

The idea of hosting a National Get Together began in January of 2005. After many months of discussions and several months of planning,? the hard work has finely paid off. The Arizona Avalanches are proud to host the 2006 National Chevy Avalanche Get Together sanctioned by ChevyAvalancheFanClub.com

The 2006 National Chevy Avalanche Get Together Committee needs your support to help make this event a great success.

Three things you can do to help.
1. Promote the 2006 National Chevy Avalanche Get Together in your Community. (Internet, Newspaper, Radio, TV, Word of Mouth)
2. Contact your local Chevy Dealers with an event poster and ask them to promote this event.
3. Attend the 2006 National Chevy Avalanche Get Together June 17th ? June 24th, 2006.

Thank you for your Support and we hope to see you there,
The 2006 NCAGTG Committee, Sponsors and Volunteers.

I had the misfortune of having to be in Wichita, KS for about two days for work once.  No offense, but I don't think I'll go back to visit by choice.

:badidea:

if the word national is used and it is heald on the east coast... the west coasters will Female Dog....

if it is called nationals and held on the west coat the est coasters will Female Dog...

nobody will be happy unless it is held near them.....

I dont give a rats @$$ about this meet, I will not have my avalanche, nor will I even be a part of this site anymore by the time this GTG comes around.... but for you east coat guys that want to Female Dog about it being on the opposite side of the country from you... it goes both ways jack....

I AM NOT STIRRING THE POT:
My question is why does CAFCNA get to use the word National for the events they sponser and not use it for events they do not sponser?

The answer to your question is contained in your question. CAFCNA gets to call it their national event because it is their national event. Seems like a pretty fundamental concept.

A Word to the Wise

There is no reason for moderators, admins, etc from other sites stirring the pot here about CAFCNA's event. Take it to your own site, it is not acceptable here.

then why are you posting about it...or even posting at all?

personally I've enjoyed posting with you, and you've been helpful to me with a few things, but I just don't get the point of your post except to just be nasty.

I hope you enjoy your new ride whatever it is, and (with the exception of your last post) I'll miss you being around here.

I am not aware of any west coasters that have complained about events on the east coast...  ???

Rich,

my reason for saying that is so that certain east coast members dont jump my case about my post becasue the GTG is in my own backyard.... with my post worded how I did... you can see that has no bearing on it at all....

Sorry SHC... as I stated in the first sentence of my post, I am not trying to stir the pot. Your answer answers my question... if it's a CAFCNA event, they call it what ever thay want.... as can any other site that has their own event. My question is why can't someone call their GTG National? If the word National can only be used on CAFCNA as a CAFCNA event then OK.... but I didn't see anything in the ToU that stated so.... that's all. Just a question.

If another organization asked if they could advertise their national event on CAFCNA, say the (Insert  Organization Name Here) Nationals , I am reasonably certain we would be able to come to some type of accord.

If anyone would like more clarification or has other questions concerning this, please contact me via pm or email. This thread is not proper venue.

Thank you..... and I agree. If I have any further questions regarding this I'll be sure to PM you.
Now, back to planning the donation drive.  :)

OK, maybe rotate between San Diego, Key West, Bellingham/Blaine, WA and Labrador City!

Or somewhere in North-central KS, after all.

Hey, hey!  I'm up for going to the 2007 Nationals in Labrador City.

Sounds like there are a whole lot of volunteers to start putting together the 2007 National GTG!  :0:

No matter where it is held, people will find a reason to Female Dog. It take a lot of effort to put something like this together. If you can make it, jump in and help make it happen. If you think you can do better, then get off you a** and put something together yourself.

I know if I was a new member and read through this thread, I would have to wonder what this club is all about. Instead of positive talk about what should be a fantastic event, it is a thread full of  :deadhorse:

<rant off>

THANK YOU to the AZ AV'ers for putting for the effort to pull this thing off. I am not sure I will be able to attend, but I have registered and paid.

Looking forward to it!

Thanks for your kind words Mike, and for registering and paying.
We really hope you can make it! The Norcal crew are good friends of the Arizona club, and we look forward to having you guys join us, as well as the rest of the country! The way we made friends with Norcal was thru some regional GTG's, so we should all have a lot of new friends after we meet at the Nationals!!

Labrador City in '07 sounds like a great time - Arizona will be there!

Nick
