Welcome to the 2011 National Chevy Avalanche GTG ~ A Great Lakes AVenture

I have to say, to anyone that is on the fence to make this trip, don't hesitate.  The sites are breathtaking.  I would have never thought that Michigan was so beautiful.

  • Sunday we visited Sleeping Bear Dunes and climbed a huge dune then toured the park.
  • Monday we went down to watch the Badger Ferry come into Port...You have to see this thing turn around on a dime.
  • Today we Tubed down a lazy river that emptied into Lake Michigan and some beautiful sandy beaches.
  • Tomorrow we are heading to Silver Lake Dunes to take a dune tour

Glad you are having a great time BBB!!  :welcome: to Michigan!!!
Will you still be in the area on Sunday?

Having a great time.  Wish I would have planned it a week later so I could share some time with you guys.

Saw a couple Avy's over the last couple days.  A Black one lifted about 4" in Silver Lake State Park.  No club markings or Ambers being that it was parked.

Went to Pentwater today with the family and ended up at a winery.  Good stuff.

Just got in from the campfire.  You guys have some persistent mosquitos.   :needhug:

Have a great time everyone.  Hopefully it will cool down a little.

Sorry, pulling out early on Saturday.  Tomorrow is Tubing in the morning and then prep for leaving.

If you want to stop for lunch saturday near my area let me know.

I can't wait to see pics of this week.  We had a blast and will be back in the area again.

:needhug:

Getting close Waz and I are about 5 miles south of Sturgis, staying here till Wednesday morning.

What time are people rolling in on Weds?  We should be in town around 11am, or noon.  Thinking of visit a few lighthouses and marinas on the shores of Lake MI.  Look forward to seeing/meeting everyone.

Thule box put on my AV rack tonight!  ATV gear staged in the garage.  I'm excited to my road trip over to MI.  I hope to be at Double JJs around noon.  Look for the White AV with the Blue Polaris Scrambler in the bed.

Howdy Everyone!!!! (That's cowboy talk for HI  )

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days, we have been having a blast here at Double Jj!!  We arrived on Sunday Afternoon and things are going GREAT!!!
When everyone checks in at the front desk you will be directed to go to my cabin to get your welcome bag.

No one should have a problem checking in before 4pm.  We checked in at 1pm and they had our cabin ready.  The RV park is not that busy either.  Plenty of camp spots available.

I will try to check in once a day and start loading pictures on here that I have taken so far!!

Oh yeah, and we already have 5 Avalanches here!!!!  :woohoo:

We will be sticking around close to the cabin tomorrow waiting for everyone to come in.
