It’s started with a slight misfire at idle which drove me nuts. So I took her into a Chevy Dealership to get a Diagnostic Checkup and she was Diagnosed with LOW COMP in Cyl #6. She ran good but they wanted to open her up to get a better look. I told them I had some research to do first as the reason I bought this truck a year ago was that it had a new engine and tranny put in about 15,000 miles ago.

Well after checking it was still under warranty and some more testing ..leak test, comp test at varying rpm’s it was determined better to swap out the old engine with a new one… It’s going in this coming Weds with new, spark plugs & wires, water pump, thermostat , upper & lower hoses , serpentine & a/c belts , oil pressure switch and oil & filter……

Now that’s she’s got a new lease on life I’m thinking I might sell or trade her in?, I really love this truck???

Eh, i'd give it some time. You just had to go though a major repair that didn't wind up costing you as much as it could have. I think most of us have the thought to wash our hands of a vehicle once it goes though a major repair. But if you really love the truck then I dont see a reason after the fact to look elsewhere. If the new engine has new bores in it, just try to go easy on it while it breaks in.

Man, as clean as that is, with a new engine AND you love it, I'd keep it.

Great looking Avy! From what I can tell you put some time into finding her...

Maybe a new motor on a clean 08 will bring top dollar. Could it be a sign to see if you can update for "free" to a 2013? ;)
