The lodging for the Oct 11-15th portion of the trip has been selected. We went with lodging that could accomodate our size group, is child & pet freindly, has local activities, can accomodate a group BBQ and is centrally located to all the National Parks and Monuments we wanted to visit.

THE RESORT:

Pinewoods Resort (www.pinewoodsresort.com)
121 Duck Creek Ridge Road
Duck Creek Village, Utah 84762
435-682-2512

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:

Zion National Park (http://www.pinewoodsresort.com/attractions/zion.htm) - Less than 1 hour drive
Bryce Canyon National Park (http://www.pinewoodsresort.com/attractions/bryce.htm) - 1 hour drive
Grand Canyon North Rim (http://www.nps.gov/grca) - 2 hour drive
Check http://www.pinewoodsresort.com/attractions/ for a list of over a dozen more places to visit within an hour of the resort.

We are going to have organized day trips to many different locations. Each day is going to have a minimum of two organized destinations, depending on how many people we have going. Check the Activities thread frequently to keep up on the organized events.

THE ROOMS:

We have reserved several rooms and room types. Most of the rooms are 2 bedroom suites with a small living room and kitchen. All of the rooms are currently in my name and we need to start moving the reservations into your name. A 1 night deposit is required and they have a 30 day cancellation policy. So, if you intend to go, lets move the reservation into your name so we can keep as many rooms as possible. I will list all the rooms and rates below, with who's name it is under. I will keep as many rooms under my name that I can afford, so we have rooms for late sign-ups. PLEASE, take a room if you want to attend. If you decide not to go, we can switch it back under my name and you will get a full refund. Room sharing is encouraged, to reduce cost, especially in the 2 bedroom suites. Pets are allowed in several rooms and can be left during the day if needed. If you need a room for a pet, let me know, so I get you the right room. If you are ready to take a room, PM me or post here, and we will get it put under your name.

Lodge Suite #1: 2 Bedroom Suite, Living Room, Kitchen ** 10/11 - 10/16 ** $95/night (AVKING)
Lodge Suite #2: 2 Bedroom Suite, Living Room, Kitchen ** 10/11 - 10/16 ** $95/night (CAHIKR)
Lodge Suite #3: 2 Bedroom Suite, Living Room, Kitchen ** 10/11 - 10/16 ** $95/night (HQ)
Lodge Suite #5: 2 Bedroom Suite, Living Room, Kitchen ** 10/11 - 10/16 ** $95/night (LOCKOUT)
Lodge Suite #6: 2 Bedroom Suite, Living Room, Kitchen ** 10/11 - 10/16 ** $95/night (TEKSAVY)
Inn Suite #15: 1 Bedroom Loft, Living Room, Kitchen, Sleeps 8 ** 10/11 -10/16 ** $115/night (Cancelled)
Inn Suite #18: 1 Bedroom Loft, Living Room, Kitchen, Sleeps 6 ** 10/11 -10/16 ** $95/night (UTAHAV)
Family Suite #19: 4 Bedrooms, Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Sleeps 10 ** 10-11 - 10/16 ** $200/night (2 Rooms Available)

With these rooms, we can accomodate 10 AVs without sharing rooms and as many as 17 AVs with room sharing. I don't expect to get more than 17 AVs for this event, based on the time of year. But, you should sign-up soon to ensure you get a room. More rooms may be available, we will wait until we are full, then find out.

We still need to work out loding for the Moab portion. I will work on that later this week and post the results.

Here is a link to a brochure on the resort. It has more info than the web site does. I scanned the brochure into PDF so most of you should be able to view it. It is 1.7MB so it may take a couple minutes to come up.

Come one folks, I know you are out there. Who is ready to take a room? I will not be able to float all the rooms myself.

I know CAHIKR is down for a room.

TEKSAVY, LOCKOUT & CINDY: You guys ready to take a room each? Remember, you can always cancel or transfer the room and get a full refund. The deposit is only 1 nights stay. If each of you take a room, plus Brian, I will float the Family Suite and the other 3 rooms.

Steve63, you just signed up, are you ready for a room yet? HQ? BareNakedYellow? DaveZ66?

I will have an answer whether I will be there for sure a week from Friday. I'll grab a room then. >:D

Sounds good. I plan on pestering everyone to make this happen.

Pismo was easy compared to what this meet is going to take to organize. You have been to the area a few times? Do you want to plan a day in one of the parks? Come up with an easy, moderate and strenuos options?

Sure I'll help out where I can. I probably know the hiking in Bryce the best. I'm going to have to see if I can find the trail maps for it. I know the Rim Trail is prety easy. That is the walk around the rim of the canyoun, but there are a few others that if you go 1 way they aren't that bad, but the other way are pretty tough.

Those are a walk through the canyonand it is just awe inspiring, and a couple of the sites are quickly disapearing from erosion... like the Queens Court, and there's another that I can't think of right now.

I'll put a more coherent thought togetherand post it under the activities.

Ok, I will email you the details tomorrow. All you will have to do is call the hotel and give them the room number I send you tomorrow. They will take your cc info and you are set. Couple questions to help decide what room is best.

Dogs?
2 People?
Do you want to potentially share a 2 bedroom with another couple?
or
Do you want a private suite?

Thanks for responding. We are going to have a blast.

2 people,we arn't bringing Dogs but I guess I could hunt one up if you think we'll need one >:D
I don't mind sharing with another couple.

Sent you a PM Robert...

Ken got the time off from work approved today. (y)
I'm just going to assume I'll get the time off approved... I can't even submit any paperwork until 21 days prior.

We are also willing and would like to share accomodations.

Ok put me down for a room. >:D

If anyone wants to split it with me, let me know.

It's just going to be for 1 person.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN THE LODGE SUITE #15 AND THE OTHER SUITES?
IT SEEMS THE TWO BEDROOMS WOULD BE HIGHER PRICED THAN THE ONE BEDROOM AND LOFT. JUST CURIOUS THEY BOTH LOOK GREAT ON THE WEBSITE. ???

I think the Inn Suites are newer and a little more plush than the lodge suites.

Ok everyone. I have finally worked out the final details on distributing the rooms. I also worked out the final discounts. The prices in the first post of this thread are now final. They have also agreed not to charge any additional fee for extra persons per room, so the price you see is the price you pay.

When you are ready to transfer a room into your name, post here, PM me or email me and I will assign you a room. You will then call 1-435-682-2512 and tell them you want to transfer that particular room out of my name (Robert King) and into yours. They will take your credit card for the reservation. They will not charge your card until we arrive. You can cancel 30 days in advance for a full refund, 7 days in advance and you get charged one night, less than 7 days you get charged full fee. If we have any cancellation issues, I am sure we can work them out and transfer your room to someone else. Who is in what room is listed in the first post.

CAHIKR - Your going into Lodge Suite #2
STEVE63 - Your going into Lodge Suite #3
LOCKOUT - Your going into Lodge Suite #5
TEKSAVY - Your going into Lodge Suite #6
I am keeping Lode Suite #1 & and I will also keep the Family Suite for overflow.

I need to get people to take the two Inn Suites in there names and then all rooms will be reserved. Once those two rooms are taken, we will start setting up the room sharing. Every room can handle one large family or two couples.

Remember, if you need to bring a pet, you have to let me know in advance.

Post if you have any questions.

We will take door #1 if possible or #18 if there are rollaways available - 2 adults / 2 kids / no pets.

Well, things are looking up. We only have two more rooms we need to get reserved. Then we start doubling up. Remember, every accomodation has multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, so we intend to share the suites. Two couples in a lodge suite will be a perfect fit. Single family in an Inn Suite and four couples in the Family suite. We still have room for at least 8 more AVs. I am sure we can fit even more, if we need to. So, sign up now and lets get this meet rolling.

Hey everybody. We still have three rooms we need to get reserved. I can only afford to hold them in my name until next Tuesday. After that, I am going to have to cancel them. This is the only lodging in the area, so you will be taking a chance that they give them to someone else. Come on, step up and take a room. This is going to be one great meet.

I WOULD LIKE TO GET A ROOM, WHAT NIGHT ARE THEY FOR..

Would Inn Suite #15 @ $115/night work ok for your? It is currently reserved for the 11th - 16th, but you can change the dates when you transfer it into your name. Just call the hotel, the number is in the 1st post, and tell them you want to transfer Inn Suite #15 from Robert King into your name. Please make sure they take your cc# and remove mine. Just post here after you make the reservation transfer or if you have any problems.

Glad you can make it. This is going to be one fun trip.

LOOKING AT THE POST, IT LOOKS LIKE THE RATE FOR INN SUITE #15 IS 95.00 A NIGHT. ALSO LODGE SUITE #1 IS ALSO OPEN AT 95.00 A NIGHT.
CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG.

Inn Suite #15 is $115 a night. I am keeping Lodge Suite #1 in my name, it allows dogs.

Well, today is the last day I can keep the remaining rooms in my name. I am going to cancel them tonight. If you email or PM before then, I will transfer it into your name. If you decide you want to come later, we still have plenty of room. We will also be able to reserve these rooms again, if they are still available.

On another subject, we did keep the 4 bedroom cabin/home (aka. Family Suite). 2 bedrooms are currently being used, but 2 are still available. This is the ideal room for you, if you really want to come, but budget is a problem. Since the room is already paid in full, these rooms can be used by anyone who needs them. If this trip is something you really wanted, but could not afford, this might help. Your only lodging cost is what you can afford. Can you afford $25/night, then the room is yours. If you can afford $10/night, then the room is yours. Get my drift? Stay in the room and pay what you can. Just come to the meet and have a good time. Only two of these rooms available, so sign-up soon.

PM me for details.

avking I got a room reserved it was 59.00 a night for sat and sunday night,, were planning on staying in vegas monday night..
