What did you do to your Avalanche today?

And I thought I was old school. That mod has me beat.

They look like a fantastic fit. Almost looks OE
I know this is 7 years later but another might read it as I did. I ran these mirror extensions. Towing a trailer for seven years on my 03 1500. Loved them, they never vibrated but I would take them off at every rest stop or restaurant also.

I replaced the bulb in the driver side DRL that is adjacent to the fog lamp.
Funny thing is I did not even know my Avy had DRLs.
I noticed it one day when I was leaving work. There is a big convex mirror set up at a blind corner in the parking lot at my workplace.
I could see one light on and one light off next to my fog lights. I was like "Huh?" Lol.
Anyhow, the socket was super crusty but I was careful with it and managed to get a new bulb in there. But those sockets will need replacing in the near future (you could see cooked plastic next to the terminals that grab on to the bulb base). So that's another thing to add to the shopping list. Anyway, it works fine for the time being. (y)

I guess I'm with a few other people since the weather broke I'm accessing the winter wear on my batteries. In the winter I may drive it 100 miles per month so of course, it started to be hard to turn over. The main battery measured 11.2 volts second battery 10.5, so I put my fancy battery conditioner on it got the main one back to 12.1, second only 10.7 and it stopped taking a charge.

So new battery time for the second one.

Pressure washed the bed and the EXT cladding pieces I picked up last year. I'm finally going to get estimates for some bodywork, repaint and installing EXT cladding.

Well I bought from Rockauto..A new Key FOB(Didn't get here yet)....Air Filter(Not here yet) and Cabin Filter....NGK indium Plugs...
Ok I'll have to admit I haven't changed a set of plugs in...mmmm 20 years and this one was a Female Dog on the passenger side but I got it done, thank god I'll never have to do these again LOL...
Opened up the cabin filter box under the dash as I saw in a YouTube video..And what the heck. They either moved it or my LTZ doesn't have one.. wasted $8 , guess I could sell it on craigslist
The FOB will be here tomorrow with the programmer and the filter Tuesday..

yes only 2002 had cabin air filters

Or you could look at the older threads where some members did a "cabin air filter mod" and cut a slot in system to accept the air filter. :)
Not sure if mod works on second gen AVs though been awhile since i read up on the mod.

Yes I just watched one...And mine has the knock-out (actually cut-out) panel where the filter goes but I'm not sure it's worth the work...

It won’t let me.☹️
You will need to make a few more posts before you have the ability to post pictures.

Watch for the "Full Member" tag under your name and you will be good to go.

The bean counters have infiltrated GM, and many other auto manufacturers - implementing stupid and even outright ridiculous methods to cost-save when building the vehicles.
Just look at how much more money it's going to cost you when there is NO cabin air filter in there. After months and years - all the collections of various types of schmoo will get embedded directly into the A/C evaporator....isn't that wonderful?
I recently saw a YouTube video where a guy cut a slot out of the air box in order to pull the A/C evaporator 'cuz it was leaking. It was either do that - or go through ridiculous amounts of work to pull the dash out to get to it. You practically have to rebuild the truck after. Just crazy and not worth it. I think I'd be cutting if I had to. Anyway, the guy was not going to have it - so he did it the hack way - and his method worked fine...so my point is if he could do surgery to pull the evaporator without removing the dash, I don't think cutting a slot just upwind of the evaporator (where the filters normally would go) would be all that difficult.
Oh yeah. You should have seen the amount of gunk in that evaporator. That guy had no cabin air filter either!
Planned obsolescence? Yup.
Let's let all the dirt and moisture build up on the evaporator fins - instead of a cheap air filter....so that an expensive and difficult to replace part can fail sooner. :poop:(n)

And yet the spend a gazillion dollars for autonomous driving and other technowenie stuff that that will cause the blasted things to reboot at 75 MPH like a MS computer.

Of course - in order to maximize the purchase price, and minimize the repairability of their products.
Might take a little more time for the general public to realize that they're getting hosed.

I'm pretty sure I blew a seal in the master cylinder when some idiot tried to cross 3 lanes when they could not see incoming traffic. So back to a mushy brake pedal for now.
