Finally a warm day, -10 c to replace my Cabin Air Temperature Sensor
( annoying little fan above my head). It Is NOT a Microphone or Speaker!!
It was buzzing which means its not working properly or possibly not at all.
This little bug is a direct connection to the heat and AC control module on the dash by sending it the temperature inside the cab.
In my case, with a digital type module, the only thing that seemed to work fine is the heat. But only maximum heat set at 90 f. Not a bad thing now as it can get to -20 c these days.
This summer I could not get the AC to work at all. This is when it would Buzz annoyingly all the time.
I am giving it about 23.75% chance that This is what my AC problem is. I will tell you in about 6 months.
So I got the part on Amazon, Fast 2 day delivery.
Pull and replace was relatively easy. Easy as it could be at minus 10 c and no garage.
Some people access the part above the drivers door but I found getting to it easiest via the sunroof, pulled half of the weatherstrip off it and pulled headliner down. There is some velcro strips holding the headliner up. Take care not too bend or crease the headliner. Seperate the little round cover carefully, you need it to go back on the new sensor. Disconnect the wires off the sensor properly lifting the tab to release. Replace the part. Easy peezy Miller time.
This is $50 Canadian BTW. It should be about $30 US
