Well, looks like new door handle time.

its weird how often i see people have issues on here that get traced back to that ground from hood to firewall, mine was un attached for several months after i bought it, and it produced no issues. i did fix it though, as a preventative measure. i guess i was just lucky.
Yeah, weird.

Well it's still "warm" and my airbag service light is still off, so far so good.

I finally got the time and motivation together to complete the resealing of the Avalanche's bed panels.

I had previously done panel #1 and #2.

I was very pleased with the results on those two.

Panel #3 has two seals and it was the one that leaked the worst.

It took as much work to prepare and reseal that one panel as it did the first two combined.

After digging out all of the old OEM sealer, it was no surprise that these panels leaked so badly.

Not only was the OEM sealer totally dried out, cracked and perished, but there was very little of the sealer installed from the factory in the first place.

I would not be surprised if these panels had leaked water from the jump.

Resealing the bed panels on the EXT are now on the to-do list.

I bet I find much of the same.

I ended up using one full tube and about 1/4 of a second tube of this 3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive, 08008, 5 fl oz.

I'll pick up one more 5 oz tube to do the EXT.

Good stuff.

Finished my center console and installed it today. It has two hidden compartments. One hides the Avy's kill switch and actuator switch. The other compartment is opened with a linear actuator. Mounted on the black panel are temp/fan controller (for amps), two volt meters, system kill switch, compartment light switch, bass and dsp knobs and sub amp monitor. Also there is storage under the arm rest.

Finally a warm day, -10 c to replace my Cabin Air Temperature Sensor
( annoying little fan above my head). It Is NOT a Microphone or Speaker!!
It was buzzing which means its not working properly or possibly not at all.
This little bug is a direct connection to the heat and AC control module on the dash by sending it the temperature inside the cab.
In my case, with a digital type module, the only thing that seemed to work fine is the heat. But only maximum heat set at 90 f. Not a bad thing now as it can get to -20 c these days.
This summer I could not get the AC to work at all. This is when it would Buzz annoyingly all the time.
I am giving it about 23.75% chance that This is what my AC problem is. I will tell you in about 6 months.
So I got the part on Amazon, Fast 2 day delivery.
Pull and replace was relatively easy. Easy as it could be at minus 10 c and no garage.
Some people access the part above the drivers door but I found getting to it easiest via the sunroof, pulled half of the weatherstrip off it and pulled headliner down. There is some velcro strips holding the headliner up. Take care not too bend or crease the headliner. Seperate the little round cover carefully, you need it to go back on the new sensor. Disconnect the wires off the sensor properly lifting the tab to release. Replace the part. Easy peezy Miller time.
This is $50 Canadian BTW. It should be about $30 US

Finally found a proper-size windshield frost cover for her at Walmart. Don't have a pic, as it has snow on it today. But it's an XL size for trucks and suv's, locks in behind each door and covers the wipers. Has plastic tubes that go in a fold on each side by the windshield posts so wind can't lift it. Was about $17. No more scraping and trying to free up the frozen wipers when it snows.

Thanks for the sunroof access tip, I need to do mine.

To be honest, I did remove the both pillar covers. Front and rear of the door. And the rear passenger grab handle. Not the sun visor as I really didn't want to fk that up lmao.
I pulled the headliner down some but it didn't give much and I was afraid to bend it. I couldn't even see the part yet as there is a curve up with the headliner.
I decided to try the sunroof and the pillars were actually still off, but I'm pretty sure they didnt need to be. If anything maybe the rear pillar.
Once I pulled down sunroof side, the part is right there. Velcro reminder. Also stick a wedge in to keep access open.

After consistently seeing this code for about a year I finally caught the guage sitting at 9 volts but when I turned it off and on it went back to 12 volt. I bit the bullet so Thursday (weather permitting) I'll change the alternator.Screenshot_20220105-131931~2.pngIMG_20220105_190826_281~2.jpg

Got about 6"+ of snow the other day. My two stage somehow sheered the great teeth, and my tractor is having carburetor problems. So long story short I have 100' plus of driveway that I'm going to have to battle through this morning

Expecting 70F and clear blue skies here in south Texas.

Drive mine to mechanic but had to schedule for a day next week, looking to find out if I have a stripped spark plug, hope I don't for sure.

I'm really confused now. So about a month or so ago I changed my MAF sensor and in that time the CEL has been on the whole time. Today was the first time driving since about Wednesday and no CEL, went for an hour ride with the dog and then ran some errands and still no CEL.

Fixed the tailgate lock. It was rusted and stuck so I took the handle cover off and soaked everything with WD40 and then 5-30 oil. Works great now.
Now I can keep work tools and gear secure in the back instead of the folded down back seat.😁
Bought a couple black plastic tubs to keep stuff in.
Took her to the car wash and tomorrow I'll give her a vacuum and detail inside. Been neglecting that as she also serves as my lunch room at work.

Added projector LED headlights, new chrome grille, chrome tow hooks and changed all the plug in 12V accessories to USB 3.0 plugs (two in the front, one in the rear).

Driving home this evening in snow storm. Wind blew an orange traffic barrel out in the road right in front of me and could not avoid it. Was braking when I hit it at about 30mph. It ripped the front bumper cover and pushed the license plate area back and ripped the lower valance/spoiler off. Luckily it did not damage anything behind the bumper cover and really lucky the airbags did not go off. Time to get estimates. Quickly priced new bumper cover and valance and it looks like it will be way less than what my deductible is, so at least I will not have to deal with insurance claim. I know a paint and body guy and will see what he can do for me.
