What Do You Guys Do With Your Pennies?

I'm curious as to why the General didn't include a slot for pennies in the console. Obviously they aren't needed at highway toll booths, but I like to use them at fast food drive throughs - only to avoid getting more pennies.

I've tried:
Keeping them in the ashtray - makes too much rattling noise
Mix them in with the nickels - pain in the ass when you are looking for three pennies
Throwing them at the bottom of the console - ditto above


But, since there is no place to nicely keep them, lately I've been literally throwing them out the window!


What do you guys do?

I store them in a bag in the AV. When it gets full I bring them in the house and put them into coffee cans. I'm saving them for mods. I only need 4,891 more pennies to get my super charger!

I've been a very generous donator to the Ronald McDonald House and the Starbucks Employee Retirement Fund(read tip jar) lately. Of course, there's always those holders...what are they called?.... OH YEAH, POCKETS !

I have an '03 and it came with the removable ashtray, I keep my pennies in the ashtray down inside the center console. I can't hear them moving around at all, and I figured it was better than just throwing them into the console on their own.

Change goes in the pockets . . . gets dumped in a can at home for future disposition . . . give pennies to the kids for allowance and they can roll them up in the little paper tubes and take them to the bank for real $$$.

I'm saving all mine so I can get the Waag from you guys. I'm hoping by the time I have enough (about half-way there right now) that they will ACTUALLY build the one I want - the brush guard WITH the front runner!

I just throw all my pennies down in the door pocket. I cleaned out my truck the other day and all the pennies I found in the door, center console I was able to buy a Big Mac!! Woo Hoo!

Dude! I never even thought about that--you Canadians got shafted! There's a new mod idea for you Chasman--make a replacement drop in console with the coin holders correctly sized for Canadian change!

I just put my pennies in the long rectangular part below the cup holders (have my cup holder turned around). The sit on the little rubber mat and don't rattle at all.

I just throw all my pennies down in the door pocket.

What, conway, and suck 'em up with a shopvac? If I put them down in the door, I'd never get 'em out. Have to tip the truck upside-down and shake!

I usually like to toss the pennies right out the window for somebody to pick up ...and hopefully it will bring them good luck.....I'm not the type of person that will save change to roll into wrappers and cash in at your local Wachovia.....had a water jug once.....long long time ago....

I have an 03, too, and use the recessed area just below the console's lid at the back of the compartment. It has a strip of that non-skid rubber used in other nooks and crannies in the dash so the coins don't move around.

I can't believe how many Avalanche owners readily admit to littering by throwing pennies out the window. Everytime I buy a new truck my wife and my mom think I'm throwing money out the window. Maybe I should start following Avalanches around and pick up the pennies they throw away. Then I can save them to buy myself an Avalanche

I have the bench seat, so that must be why I don't have the coin holders. The thing doesn't even have a place for cds but it has cassette holders and the truck doesn't even come with a tape player.

that is beautiful! That is the type of thing that will be talked about at antique car shows 50 years from now. Probably increase the value someday.
