What is this tube for?

The other day I was just looking around under the hood, and I spied this tube. Open and uncovered. What struck me as odd is that it is pointing up. Had it been pointing down, I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

OK let me rephrase.... how can a vent have a cap on it ???

Actually the cap is like a little filter that will not allow, debris into the tube and cause it to clog--

It is also possible that 7of7 only has a 2wd AV - so that tube serves no purpose-

thank you for the explanation... love is on the way:)

It is not a 2WD. Since it is a vent for the front diff, should I be worried about the stuff that has managed to get down inside the diff. ie,.. water.

It all Depends on the Mileage -I sugest steal the Wifes old panty hose and a rubber band.

Just see if you can follow it down to the connetion @ the Diff ( 2 man job ) -Remove blow out with air ( either from a compressor or a can of compressed air used to clean the "dust bunnies" out of your computer.

Just my .02

As a matter of fact, but, either it is going to look really funny, or you're going to end up with a really good looking computer,.... I don't think you'll find big enough ones to go on the AV, but I am certain you cna find some to go IN the AV!!!!!!

wondering how good of an idea it is for a newfie to play with pantyhose....
