What Vehicle Did You Switch From? Part II

I traded in a 2000 Silverado, with 13,000 miles on it. I just had to have the Avalanche. :C:

2001 Cadillac DTS. Stuck a flowmaster system on it to give it some sound. Great Car! Just wanted something different, and something I could load up with stuff for the home improvement projects. Do they ever end?????

Tis is topic 2 of 2 so far so lets continue discussion in there......

THANKS

I traded a 97 Dodge XLT for my 02 AV
We had a 97 Chevy Blazer that we traded for the 02 Trailblazer that we traded for the 03 AV

Sold my old pickup privately.... It was a 95 Chevy pickup, regular cab, with 8 foot box. 2 wheel drive with 4.3 L V6 and a 5 speed manual.... A/C and AM-FM Stereo CD/Cassette. 160,000 kms....

Had a 2000 Frontier SE Crew Cab. Traded down to a 98 Chevy Malibu LS. :E: Did it for the gas mileage. Also, figured anything that too large to haul can be delivered. Nothing like waiting around all day to get a delivery. What a PITA that was! Plus getting blinded by oncoming traffic is soo much fun....

Anyhoo, the Malibu experiment lasted less than a year. (Got killed on the trade...oh well. Someone else mentioned that too). The $4K rebate sure helped take away the sting. Got an 03 Dark Grey Metallic 1500 4x4, roof rack, locking rear diff, factory steps, and XM radio. The Fronty was great and actually considered an 03 Frontier SC, but the AV wins hands down in all categories. Love my Avalanche.

I traded in a 1994 Acura Integra with 110,000 miles. My Acura was starting to have a lot of problems so I knew it was time! What a big change though! Of course my Av is still in the auto body shop from the accident two weeks ago!

I MISS MY AV!

Sold my 1994 Ext Cab Silverado, 2Wd, 4.3 V-6 with 130,000 miles (bought new in 1993) to a friend of mine and picked up my 02 Red Z66/Tan cloth in Dec. 01. Just traded it in with 24000miles for an 03 WHB Red (of course) Z66. Went in for a tire rotation and my saleman on the first deal had my vehicle appraised by the used truck manager. He called and said he could trade me for WBH I saw on Gmbuypower for $4200...I had $1000 GM points and GM sent out a $600 bonus...so I traded for $2600. (The MSRP on the new one was $1000 more than the 02) My wife is still shaking her head on this one but I love the new look of my AV. This one is a keeper...atleast until I go in for a tire rotation!

Turned in my 1999 Silverado Extended Cab w/ 3rd door for an '03 dgm. Not having the 4th suicide door drove me crazy. Nothing better than the av with 4 real doors to get kids and cargo in and out of. Some what off topic, but when did gm change how you trigger the high/low beams?

I traded my sweet 16 '97 Trans Am... T-tops, loaded, fast and so much fun... I miss it, but I LOVE MY AVALANCHE! Needed a family vehicle. Saw the big motors they were putting in the 2500 AVs, and I thought... Now that's the family vehicle I want!! I can just RUN over any competition now!! ;D

I LOVE MY AVALANCHE!!!!!

I don't really know if I necessarily switched because I still have and drive my other truck. But what I drove before my AV was a 98 Pewter Sonoma. I dropped it, had rims and system inside, but it was only a 2.2l 4 cy, so there wasn't much to do as far as the engine goes. But I made it mine.

The AV replaces my 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. That was my second Grand. First was an '84. Gee, I sure loved those things! But, I'm getting too old to be parked on the side of the road, crawling under it with a roll of duct tape, and trying to get it to go again.

My requirements were simple: room to sleep in the back, tailgate, and access to the cargo area through the rear doors. The AV was the only thing that even came close.

Last year the Grand went from Texas to several hundred miles north of Lake Louise, Canada. Crossed the Continental divide about 15 times, often on logging roads in the national forests. In August the AV gets to try out some of the same roads. I'm confident that I made the right choice, but the mountains will be the final exam. :)

PS Still have the Grand. Anyone interested?

Talk about going from one end of the scale to the other: I transitioned from a 97 Saturn SC2 to my big black 03 WBH Z71.

It was a big jump getting used to driving the Avalanche around... but I'm lovin' the truck! Besides, it's fun filling up the rear view mirrors of cars.... ah, revenge is sweet after all those years of dealing with it in my Saturn.

;)

2001 Ford F250 diesel with all the preformance goodies. I miss all the power, but love the AV

Went from 93 Ford Ranger XLT Super Cab, to my 02' Indigo Blue Av Z66 Leather, Power sunroof, onstar, side air bags, all four windows tinted, had 39,500 miles. Bought for $21,800 on July 11th and the Ranger has been parked since. This is my first ever Chevy or GM of any kind, so far I am loving it :B:

Went from a '98 Ext Cab ZR2 S-10, which had the 3rd door option (thank god) and just over 60k on it, to my 03 VR Z71 Avalanche. Gas mileage is only a few MPG worse but the comfort and room isn't even comparable.

I just sealed the deal for a black avy without cladding. I am switching from a Subaru Forester. I didn' t realize Subaru Foresters have a reputation for the car for Alternative lifesytle females. Wait, in a way I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body.
Oh well, I can't wait to shop for dubs (20 " rims).

Peace!

Well, it's a little emabarrasing, but it has a happy ending. :cautious:

Bought the '03 AV earlier this month and sold the red 92 Grand Prix SE 4 door sedan with 132,00 miles and PINK & PURPLE pin stripes on it!

It used to be the wifes. When we traded in my Tahoe on a minivan :C: I wound up with the car.

I said "The next one's mine; I'm getting what I want on it, and I'm getting it LOADED!" Took her to the dealer and she fell in love with the truck. Even telling me to get all the bells & whistles. I went for it, but she doesn't get to drive it much.

Lovin' my AV!

L8r,
-K.

Sold my '92 K1500 ext cab, AND my '96 4-door Blazer for my '02 pewterZ71 Av, it's now 1 year old, 25,000 miles later, and STILL LOVE IT like it was day ONE! ;D

Currently driving a 2000 Grand Prix GT with 95000kms on it. Will give it to the fiance to drive.
She is driving an 2001 Aztek GT with 48000kms on it. This vehicle (If you can call it that) has been nothing but problem after problem. Oil pan gasket failure, a/c does not work, gas gauge does not work, brakes feel like mushy pasta to name a few. (thankfully we have an extended warranty & will fix it next week before it goes away.)

We are paying off the remaining months on our lease just to get rid of this thing.

Anyhow, looking forward to buying a Avalanche 2003 Z66.
