What would you purchase as your next vehicle if the Avalanche did not exist?

to those that would get another chevy, you could always pull the mods off your Avy and put em on your other chevy/GMC, when that sad day comes of course:)

Just the other day I was thinking about when I have to trade in my Avy.  I almost forgot that there are mods that will have to be unmodded.

Even though I don't have a lot of mods, the ones I've done (thanks to this forum) have made the Av so nice.

Also, when we were pricing out a new truck, the Avy made the price of the new truck go right for the top. It was funny sitting in the dealership and they were asking what I want on a truck and I had to list all the things the Avy has.

Escalade EXT, Volvo S60R, Cadillac CTS-V, Infiniti G37S FX50S, GMC Denali 2500... i got a long list haha but nothing will top the Avalanche for me :)

:D  I just purchased my second AV.  It is 2013 LT and plan to keep it running as long as I can.

Wow. It's hard for me to believe that I'm actually thinking of a different rig.
But, with my taste in R/C airplanes growing to larger aircraft, I need a longer bed and higher cargo area.
Looking to move to a GMC Yukon XL Denali. Remove the third row seat, fold down the second row, and I get nearly 40 more inches longer, and double the height of  cargo area.
Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Well, it will probably be a Toyota SUV with a medium sized trailer.  That is really the only way to get near the full capability of my Avy.

By that I mean a platform that can at least;

haul 4x8 sheets of plywood and move furniture in the rain
haul rock
haul firewood
turn sharp enough I can maneuver in a parking lot (I hate the turning radius of full size crew cabs)
haul my son's scooter (the stowable tonneau cover is just so convenient)
go to any store with the family and bring back whatever we purchase in the dry

If there were no Avays, my next choice would be a Ford F150 (gasp! lol) extended cab loaded to the gills and with a hard b ed cover that either folds or lifts up. I would then just have to deal with the tail gate open when hauling lumber or sheet goods just like I had to do back in the day. If just going with a straight truck I like the way the new F-150s look better than the Silveraldo.

Latest answer....a 10+/- year old Silverado and a new Audi A4..manual awd.

I'm guessing I'd buy a 2013 Equinox LT, Atlantis Blue with a light Titanium/Jet Black interior... oh wait I did that last night.  Traded in my 05 Z71 Bermuda Blue AV.  It was a nice long ride, will miss the old guy.  :needhug:

I am really liking the 2014 GMC Sierra that was announced. Looking forward to a Denali trim with a 6.2L engine and the new 8-speed they will probably offer around 2015. Until then I am keeping my Avy.

Going back to a pick up truck..Anything that does not have the 4-8 motor. Oil consumption and lifter problems in that motor. 40,000 miles on mine and it is getting a new motor as I type...I have changed my oil every 3000 miles even though they say NOT needed.

If it was strictly the Avalanche that wasn't available I would want an Escalade EXT.  If it was both styles I would probably get a 2010-11 GMC Sierra SLT.

I would likely stick to Chevy and would try to make a new Silverado look kind of like an Avalanche.  My real plan is to keep the '12 running forever.  I will change out engine, transmission etc. to keep it going.  I like it too much to switch.
