Excellent job, I am inclined to believe that the 2500 will also have all the tekkie goodies and cladding color change based on the options availability for 2002. ;D

Wow that's a lot of changes. I really like my Av cause most of the goodies were standard. I wonder if the price is going to be lower with out the goodies the 02 have. Do they have samples of the new colors. I really like the DGGM, and the Dark Gray. Is the new blue color going to be lighter than the indigo blue?? Can't wait till they come out. If they can't fix all the problems I am having with my Av I might be looking for the 03 Av.

How does the new green look compared to the forest green? Will the base price go down with the new options? Will the tow package be standard on the 2500?

We have a picture of the dark gray on the page. I would imagine the new blue will be lighter than the Indigo Blue to go with the dark charcoal cladding better. Same with the new green. No idea on pricing yet HOWEVER I think the base price will be a wash. Yes, some standard features removed but others have been added.

Chief,

I realize that you don't work for GM, or probably even have access to this kind of information, however, do you think it is realistic to assume that one could replace his 2002 medium gray cladding with 2003 Charcoal Gray cladding and have everything fit properly?

That would be the grand finale! (performance mods aside, of course)

The verdict is still out until I see the new interiors and the darker cladding as to whether or not I wished I had waited. There are some real trade-offs with the new options and deletions. Time will tell. It will be interesting to see what the new price points and option costs will be. I just hope that the 2003 engines don't have 20% more hp and torque and get 15% more mileage. I would also be a bit miffed to find that the 6L or the diesel made it into the powertrain options after I bought mine.

Nope - the info that we got from the General on the 1500 indicates that HP and torque remain the same. Actually I'm surprised by this - in being a bit of a car nut I've noticed that both numbers tend to go up a percent or two each rev of the vehicle.

If HP or torque was changing I would have listed it on the page...

A couple of corrections for your page Chief. Sage Green has always been a North Face color only, the electrochromic mirror was standard in '02, and the delivery date of August 5th is unrealistic. The plant that builds the Av does it's model change the week of July 29, so the first '03s won't hit the lot for a few weeks after that.

Anyone know if the new information center is a retrofit item (probably too early to tell). I'd love to have mpg, range to empty ,available. Every SUV/Truck Ford and Mopar build seems to have it. I was a bit disappointed to see my Av didn't.

But I've had it for nearly 1 year so far and no problems. Just ordered the Denali instrument cluster as a birthday present.

I can confirm after speaking to someone on the Nameplate team (formerly the BrandTeam) that The North Face Edition will be losing its green leather interior in favor of gray. The orange detail I forgot to ask about. For those of us with 02 Avs should we be looking at picking up some interior parts in ......... case my dog eats my headrest?
