Hello All,

I have been running the CorrectTrack Rear Wheel Spacers (steel) since I purchased it back in 2002.

I found a pair of aluminum spacers with the same dimensions however, I don't know the manufacture.

The Correct Track are heavy.

Should I keep what I have or replace?

Cheers!

How are the steel spacers holding up.

They are holding up well, last summer when I replaced the rear brakes I removed them and cleaned up the rust and reapplied anti seize to the face that contacts the aluminum wheels.

Thanks

I would not replace them just to replace them, if you don't mind the rust issue.
The weight issue is minor since the spacers are near the hub and you probably won't notice the difference.

Aluminum spacers come in different qualities so you may not want to go with a unknown brand.

Are these the only brand out there for the 2500? I'm looking to purchase a pair of 2" spacers and can't find anybody who sells them.

I got mine off of ebay some time ago, bought two sets then

just to throw this question out there. I keep thinking of getting 2" spacers myself, however I do tow alot, pretty all we use the ava for, would it really make a difference or would it actually have a negative effect towing. I tow just under 7k just about everytime so. I run 16" tires

Won't have a problem.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "won't have a problem" as a blanket statement. I would buy some quality STEEL spacers if you are going to go 2". Don't put your safety in the hands of a cheap chinese aluminum spacer.

Agree to Disagree at that blanket statement.

sometimes I wonder if amazon sends out wrong stuff just to have a good laugh....well thats another matter. Anyways, I have read alot of the wheel spacers on the forums, at least for the 2500 ive seen some say the rear is not as wide as the front?. Should I go with two different spacers, ones for the front and ones for the back? I was even thinking of going with just 1.5 spacers as I had read from someone that tows as much as I do that the 1.5 seem to work better with towing, 2" seems to work fine too but 1.5" seems to be the sweet spot. Im not much for the aggressive look, Id like to even out the ride on turns and give my truck more balance on the tires, 1.5" seems to be something better suited for me, Im sure this is a long drawn out discussion but thoughts and suggestions on this help a ton :)

Ya might want to measure the rear wheel stud length before you try a 1.5 spacer. Where are you getting your advice from that tows as much as you.

I will see if I can find the post, it was over on the chevy forums, was a general discussion. Not here, I have seen some talk about the 1.5 vs the 2" the 1.5 something to do with measuring the stud length as you say. As far as advice, Id say more discussion, I had only read it, not sure I said anyone was giving me advice :) just what I read, hence why Im here, I trust my avalanche brothers and sisters and if I want the best advice I come here, makes me bias I suppose but who cares, I love my avalanche and hopefully everyone here who has one feels the same.

So on that note, I did read here that one guy had used 2" on the rear and 1.5" on the front as to make them look even? Im just curious to what seems to work best and which would be a good route to go with no issues.

Me personally I would not add spacers to the front because it's a steering axle. (more wear and tear)

Yes the 2500 rear axle is 3 inches narrower than the front axle but a 1.5-inch spacer will not clear the wheel studs which is why I and a few others went with a 2-inch spacer. The rear track is now .5 inch wider on each side than the front now. You will never notice the difference.

Now I have hummer h2 wheels on my av which is 8.5 inches wide as compared to a stock 2500 wheel which is 6.5 inches.

Don't add spacers to the front. You increase scrub radius. That will have adverse effects on handling and wear of components. Add 2" to the rear for added stability. You can do 1.5 but you will have to trim the studs.

thats why I love this place, you guys are awesome, ty for the advice, I will stick with the rear 2"! Just waiting for a new transmission to be put in and then I will throw the spacers on! Show some pics when its all done.

Actually I'm a member at a 2500 suburban/Yukon XL forum.
Now the majority of them came with a 6.0 4l80e and a semi floater rear axle. The ones that came with the 8.1 like the 2500 AV are quite different so you get all those strange responses that do not apply.

What forum is that? I too see the confusion whenever someone asks about the 2500 Suburbans, you get everything from "it's a 2500HD frame" to "it's the same as the 1500 just has leaf springs".

Steel 2'' spacers is one of the first mods I did. The 2500 is my mule. All is good with the spacers.

I put 2" spacers on the rear and 1.5" on the front of my Avy, I made sure I got the centric centered spacers, it evened out the front and rear alignment and its great. I got lucky and didn't have to cut my front studs because the 2015 factory wheels I have were recessed enough to bolt on right over the studs. The handling is AWESOME! I corner so much better now. I have a 2010, half ton. Here are the pictures of the spacers on the wheels and I have also installed a 3" lift in the front and heavy duty rear springs. I still have the factory air ride on the rear too.20200828_195409.jpg20200903_074038.jpg

Well all I can say is good luck, this is the 2500 section LOL.

I hope you don't tow any thing

Just like other Chevrolet forums does not have anything do with a 2500
But it is a pretty picture. (y)

Got mine on. Look good as everyone has said and has made improvements on my turningView attachment 231012
That looks great, I put the 2" on the back and the 1.5" on the front and it made the wheels perfectly even, when I measured them the rear axle width was 1" smaller than the front. I've had them on for 6240 miles now and no loosening up and no cracks.

nice look for sure
