Hey there long time reader first time posting. I have an 02 avy z71 and im doing the coilover conversion and getting rid of the torsion bars. Its stock height. I put a much bigger sway bar in the front and now im noticing wheel rub on the sway bar. Not when driving normally and turning but when i have snow chains on i can hear and feel it. So i was considering 1/4 to 1/2 inch universal wheel spacers on the front. But from what ive been able to find and read on them 1500s tend to have an issue with adding spacers? But some say a 1/4 to 1/2 isnt to bad and not much extra strain on axles and bearings. Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge about the wheel spacers?

Welcome!
I'm not a big fan of spacers in general but the ones you're talking about could be ok as long as your lug studs are long enough to get full lug nut engagement. A quarter or half inch won't make that big of a difference on bearings as long as your wheel offset isn't crazy negative already.

With that said, any time you bring your wheel further out, you do strain your bearings and change the scrub radius to some degree.

Thanks for the reply! There cheap enough I think ill give it a shot and report back here.

I'm a true novice with wheel spacers lol. But I put 3 inch ones on mine. Had to take them off the front though cuz of the rub. I might look into a lift and/or a NorCal mod. Just not entirely sure yet. They're still on the back, and so far so good. I'd love to learn more about them myself. :)
