OK,.. I just saw something totally new and really cool today. It was an EXT with some type of chrome wheels sitting at a stop light,... but the wheels were still rotating! It was the strangest sight to see!
I followed the vehicle as best I could, and it appears the wheels had some type of cover on the outside that rotated independent of the wheel, because they spun up slower than the actual vehicle speed, and kept spinning when the truck stopped.
anybody seen these or know about them?

I see them down here on cruise night all the time.

Here's some of them ZAB Spinners.

i saw them on the show MTV cribs car edition this one basketball player owned a "dub" shop and he was talkin about them wheels how they keep spinnin when u are stopped that would look different to see the wheels still spining

I was driving down the road a few weeks ago, and I saw this black SUV, and something caught my eye.
At first the front wheel seemed to be spinning way to slow for the speed of the vehicle. But then I noticed the back wheel, and it almost appeared to be stopped.
Kind of freaked me out for a second, and I just passed it off to some wierd angle and rotation and pattern of the wheel stuff.
Now I know I was not seeing things wrong, just a different type of wheel.

Thanks for clearing that mystery up.

Now, about that L.H. Oswald thing... :p

NOw I remember seeing some that do not move at all while driving........kinda the opposite.....A large center cap remains still as the wheel spins when moving.....

Another brand than the one GOO posted too....But of course I forget which they were.

But they are $1,000 a wheel! ? Man I can find a better use of 4 grand plus tires. ?:0:

That's about right of course you can always get a better deal ;D

I ran across this thread and just had to say something. The wheels you guys are referencing are called Davin's, and for the ones you see in the 20 in and up range they are $5,000.000 to $10,000.00 a set. depending on the size. They were first shown on MTV cribs as stated but the B-ball player was Latrell Sprewell, of the Nicks. In the world of dubs, since he showed them first, they are now known as Sprewell's. Just in case you are interested. if you have rims on your ride now, there are aftermarket ("Free spinners"), you can purchase to add to what you have. Be advised these run about a grand for the set. Just thougt you guys might want to know.

What will they think of next?
Probably have an inner section that spins the "correct" way as a middle section spins opposite. All the sections are lit up by neons to accent the spin.

Latral Sprewell (hope i spelled it right) the nba player is maybe the one who came up with the idea for these wheels for sale at his speed shop in LA.

That is a lot of money for some eye candy...I'm having trouble trying to land a deal on some set of 20's...hoping to have them by the spring just in time for the summer dayz....

Besides as quick as I would put them on...they would get ripped right off.....and on some omni somewhere.... :7: :B:

NFHJR....Spreewell sold the rims in his race shop and I would say that the MTV show that they did on him was the first time they were intorduced to the mainstream.. The wheels are actually manufactured by Davin Wheels. I think they are out of Germany but I am not sure, their website is down att.. (www.davinwheels.com)

I personnaly like the wheels alot but I do not think the fit the AV's personality.. Much better on a Benz or BMW. just my .02

If you want to know where Sprewells store is, it is in San Gabriel, California. I drive the shop everyday.

At $500-$1000 for that I think I'll keep looking for something else in the future. I haven't seen them in person. but It really must be a sight too see!!!

I saw them on a truck that pulled up next to me at the light. At first I was like "What the Heck!" then I thought how ugly they were, and then I thought I how much money this guy must have shelled out.

WOW -

and at a mere $1000. per WHEEL,
I'll get a set for my AV,
and one for the Wife's Micro-Lanche...
and I just might put a set on my old F-150 Beater as well!

Heck, I might go out and buy another vehicle,
just so I can put these super-cool trick wheels on it! ? :D

Wonder if they have sizes to fit my Kubota? ? ?(y)

What the heck, they'd be really cool on my push-mower as well... and the wheelbarrow! ? :D

I have seen some incredibly stupid things to totally waste money on, but this has to take the cake! ? ? :D:

No offense...
if that floats your boat, by all means...

Personally, I'd rather dip $1. bills in glue and stick them all over my old F-150 - at least they'd still have SOME value. ?

Heck, I'd rather buy $4000. worth of Chia Pets!

I am amazed... ? ?

And I just realized, I must be really, REALLY OLD.

But, just for the record...
there is NO WAY I would put them on my AV, or ANY vehicle I owned if they were FREE and came with FREE Lifetime TIRE REPLACEMENT!

Free GAS? In my 8.1? Now we're talkin...
OK, but I'll paint them black! ;)

Seven ?

I was in a certain part of town this week and saw a beat up car with these wheels that were moving, but, we were stopped. I kept looking - he's got a windmill thing on his wheels!
Is this the next big fad or have i just been on the other side of town for a while?

They were interesting. Don't know if I really like them.

Have you seen these? look up spinners on Ebay.
