Where can I get interchangeable parts for my 2002 Chevy Avalanche

Hi, new to the page, but I?ve seen some posts and I figure this is the best place to get some assistance! I recently ran into someone with my 2002 Chevy Avalanche and now I need to fix the front end. I?m not looking to bring the truck back to perfect condition, but if I can at least fix some of the broken parts I?d call that a win. Now my grill needs to be replaced, there?s a sort of metal brace that is directly behind the grill that needs to be replaced and perhaps a few other things. What other Vehicle can I pull these parts off of that will fit my Avalanche?

Suburban is closet thing....
and not all parts will work so hunt and peck and compare PNs.

good luck and welcome

First welcome to the website!

Unfortunately many of your parts for a 2002 AV may be model and even year specific. Not sure about braces and other "mechanical parts" some may interchange with same year Suburbans but things like grill will be specific to the fully cladded AV since that is all they made in 2002 (later years had a choice of cladded or WBH -without body hardware).  2002 also used light grey in color of cladding whereas later years used dark grey until 2006.
The fully cladded AVs had unique hoods, headlights, DRL and fog lights so can't use Suburban/Tahoe or Silverado parts of body works.
You will probably have to look for junkyards and places like this site for owners who are parting out their old AV.

I have had good luck finding used parts for my trucks at Car-Part.com

I can not speak to the exact interchangeability of the parts.

Others here will know better than me.

But, I would imagine structural parts like those grill braces might have a better chance of being the same across the years.

So, since all 2002 Avalanches were cladded, perhaps a metal grill brace from any 2002-2006 cladded Avalanche might work.

Or maybe not.

I can not imagine that part would be too awful expensive, so maybe just buy one on a hunch and see.

Who knows, you might get lucky.

See if this helps, it's extremely old and I'm sure the many part numbers may have been superseded

So I took a look at the parts list and that was greatly helpful, but it raised a new question. It seems the part that has me stumped is the reinforcement grill, is that something I can salvage off of a Tahoe or Silverado, if so what years? Does anybody have any experience with these parts? I?ve scoured YouTube trying to find someone who has replaced one and have come up empty handed!

P.S. thank you for the warm welcomes and the help!

Take the part number and go to www.gmpartsdirect.com

Enter the number there and it will tell you what it fits.

Hey thanks, I?m pretty sure with all of this, I can now find parts! Unfortunately, it looks like I can only pull from other Avalanches, but hey at least now I know!

has anyone swapped out the seats? or does anyone know if the 07 rear seats are interchangeable with the 02? What about the front seats? the family grew by 1 and we all don't fit in the avalanche which is going to make taking the RV and Family out with just 1 vehicle, I have the 2 captain seats with power, heat, and center console but looking to swap out to the 40/20/40 bench seats in the front. another option is to see if the center front jump seat is a 1 for 1 swap for the center console???

Others have swapped out the bench with jump seat in the first generation Avalanches in the past.

There should be some posts in this forum for that topic.

One of the problems with trying to use the second generation truck's seats is the location of the seat belts.

If you have the bose system you'll also need to remove the sub woofer. I think there are posts on that too.
