I just crawled under my beast and got 10 zircs. 5 on each side. My idler arm in front of the AC already had a 90 degree zirc on it. (Build date 3/02) So I was quite pleased. Now, I am not able to locate the pittman arm because I am not a mechanic and can't reason out what a pittman arm would even look like, and since there is only one, I am having a hard time. Can anyone give me a good place to look?

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

It is the arm that comes off of the steering box!

I can tell you it is the arm that connects the Steering gear box to the center link. Also it tis very hard to get to the grease fitting on this - oyu may have to move the steering wheel to position the pitman for better access.

Jeremy....The pittman arm is the single most important
SAFETY CONTROL item on your AV. If it breaks, you have no steering control.

BTW...What part of SC. do you call home?

I live in Charleston. I saw that there was a meeting here at the Hooters but I was up in Ohio and couldn't make it.

Thanks for the info on the location of the arm. I do think I hit that one and maybe missed another one cause I specifically remember lubing a zirc right underneath the PS box. It was a little tough to get at since it was on top of the rod. I will have to go back under there and count them again to make sure I got all 11.

Cheers,
Jeremy
