I just got a new job, and need to find a GPS unit for my truck. What one does everyone like/use???? It would be nice if i didn't have to break the bank, but i guess you pay for what you get. Any advice??? Thanks

I currently have a Garmin Quest and am eyeing the Garmin Street Pilot c580 as an upgrade.  A guy I work with just upgraded his Garmin Quest for the Garmin Nuvi 660.  I prefer Garmin GPS units for their ease of use and great functionality.  Tom-Tom is pretty popular.  I haven't heard a whole lot about Magellan these days.

The best thing to do is to define what you want the GPS unit to do and what you are using it for.  Then search for units that have those features which you need the most (auto-routing, number of waypoints, built in maps, upgradable maps, built in vs. portable, etc)

my thoughts exact. I'm running the garmin quest as well and it works just as well on the motorcycle in the rain as it does in the Av! I wish it had more bells and whistles, but it still gets me to my destination.

Any of the Garmins would be my vote. THe Nuvis are a nice model line. If you travel, ensure you get one that has the entire map set loaded so you don't have to fool with uploading before a trip.

If you just need something for local use, there are plenty of bargain priced ones that will get you where you need to go.
