Dunno who invented the Amber DRL's, but I've seen then on mini vans and corvettes.

A search revealed baron138 mentioning amber DRLs first, quickly followed by Chief thinking they would look cool.

I thought he meant on the Avalanche but I may be mistaken.

FYI, Corvettes and Camaros (and many others) come with them. The Av has to be "Modded" to get them.

They have kind of become an identifying characteristic of some (most?)club members. I changed my at the dealer's lot before I drove off. I actually think they do look cool, but I'm sure not everyone will agree.

The ambers I found seem to be brighter than most of the others. I don't know why. I really like the look of the Av coming down the street with the amber DRLs and the amber parking lights on. I have noticed that more vehicles decide to change lanes, out of the lane I am coming down when I run both sets of amber.

I think the reason amber was chosen was because it is legal in all 50 states and Canada. Most other colors are restricted to specific offical vehicles.

I think it is a matter of great minds think alike!

I am a amber NUT, I had them on my AV 6 months before I found the club
And If you look at the 69 on the sig
I had a SS symbol in the park/ lights with amber and that was 20 years ago

But for the Av club, it is a great way to discover other members>> who take pride in thier AV's and the Club
