Are you going to Silver Lake Sand Dunes on Thursday morning? (also note: you do not have to take your truck on the dunes if you want to go ... I'm sure if we get a few trucks to go we can take the panels out once we get there and put a few people in the bed who just want to get in and see the dunes .... they have a parking lot at the entrance to the dunes to leave you vehicle) to get in it will not cost you anything .... only will cost if you want to get your truck in  ... you will have to get an ORV sticker ... and buy the flag pole ..... or if you are really nice to me  :p I do 2 mounts and flags for the avalanche .....

FYI...
If you plan to have people in the back of the Avy they must wear a helmet unless the back has a roll cage and seatbelts.

I am planning on going to the Dunes on Thurs.  I will have my quad and will be riding that.  Anyone else bring their quad or sand rail to the dunes.  I talked to the state park today.  $8 for vehicle to enter the park, $10 for Passport (Park annually permit), and $16.25 for MI ORV permit.  Park opens at 9am.  What time were you thinking for go-carting?

Won't be taking the AV on the sand. Too much of a princess and I refuse to put the flag mount on it  :p  Go-karts would be fun. If its' the same place I used to go to there and it hasn't changed, there used to be a few shops in that area (souvenir type places...tshirts, fudge, etc;) with the go-karts. What time you thinking of heading there Intim??

I'll for sure be hitting the dunes I just bought a quad for that reason, I'll probably take the av out to. Also you say I need a flag pole, is it for 1 of those orange flags. And am I allowed to make my own?

Yes, the flag mount is for the orange flags. Had to be on the front of your vehicle/ATV/etc; Not sure if you can make your own. Someone will chime in on that one  (y)  Congrats on the quad!!

Note to all that are driving their AV's on the sand,  you will need to release air from your tires to about 10-20 psi for extra floatation/traction on the sand,  so bring your air compressors.

I built an air compressor under the hood of the av just for that reason >:D

not sure .... it was Casey's idea to do Karts in the afternoon .... maybe 2-3 o'clock? .... and yes there is shops within walking distance to check out

when/where do we want to meet for the dunes ... at Double JJ ... meet at the dunes entrance? 9 am - 9:30? ...

and I have a compressor in the back of my truck with a 5 gallon tank .... and yes I will air down to about 12 psi ....

John

We are thinking about brining the Quads with us.  Not sure yet if we will or not.

There is one place in Silver Lake that has 2 Kart Tracks.  One of them is a traditional "road course" the other is a "drifter oval"

I will hit that one on Thursday Afternoon.

Me and Taylor will do the Mac Woods ride.
Will also do Go-Karts while the wife shop.

Beave is trying to convince me to go in the sand...looking at a buggy rental...so we may be there early enough. Not sure, they are quite expensive. We will be around for the go karts. See you all sometime on Thursday!!  :B:

Any one no the width of the orange flag so I can weld up a mount tomorrow, I'm sure it would be cheaper making one rather then  buying theres

The flag pole I have is 10' tall and the flag itself is 10" x 10"

where do you guys want to meet up at? .... at the doublejj? .... in Hart? .... at the Dunes enterance? .....

I figure to meet up with you guys by 9:30 ......

do go-carts around 3 ..... I will bring my grill and we can cook out if anyone is interested .....

John

That should be fun xtremesport. (y)

We are planning of doing the Mac Woods rides on the dunes, anyone else riding with them? Is everyone meeting at 9:30 anywhere near Mac Woods?

I think that would be s goof plasn Butch .... Mac woods is about a stone's throw from the enterance to the dunes .... we are staying a little south of the doublejj Wed and Thurs night .... we will just plan on meet up at Mac woods at 9:30 ... those with quads will be in the parking lot of the dunes .... we will swing by Mac's then hit up the parking lot to see who ready to go with the quads .....

We will see everyone at Craigs Cruisers. I'll touchbase with someone to confirm the time. Be safe in the sand!!! Don't break anything  >:D

If you all can, head down to the lake and get a group picture. It's been years since I have been to Silver Lake, but you used to be able to drive right up to Lake Michigan.
