Who locks thier sadle bags?

My saddle bags are electrically charged to "taze" anyone who attempts to push the lock button and gain entry without permission.  My Avy is also 100% submersible and hunted for the Red October...and it has converted vegetarians to carnivores.   It could quite possibly be the most interesting Avy in the world.

Stay thirsty my friends...
CLASSIC!!!

passenger side locked because i have tools and supplies in there  drivers side unlocked as that is my cooler,  probably will lock it when fully stocked.

I'm afraid to lock mine - did one time to test it and almost never got it open again...same with tailgate...

they don't unlock if you are pushing in on the button while trying to turn the key.

Now I have to go try it...I'll be sure to let you guys know if I somehow manage to injure myself in a humorous way.

After reading this thread I decided I should lock them with some of the valuable "things" I have stowed away in there lol

Tow strap, hatchet, quart of oil, portable air compressor, tie downs on passenger side
small bag of tools, wrenches and flashlight in driver side

I keep mine locked, and my tailgate is still locking itself, haven't figured out that yet.  :(

Ha, that's one thing I didn't like about the '05's, the tailgate didn't lock when you lock the doors.

Normally locked. More to prevent a deposit than to stop a withdrawal. People do some weird stuff sometimes.

I've actually started locking my passenger side, because I keep towing related things in there.  I don't need in all the time, so it's no big deal.  But my driver's side, I have decided to leave unlocked, because I keep a fire extinguisher in there, and want it to be accessible in case of an emergency.  So I keep that and cheap things like paper towels, bug spray, and some old clothes for "impromptu roadside repairs".  The fire extinguisher is probably the only thing anyone would care to steal, lol

For a long time I used to leave mine unlocked. Just never really thought about it. But considering the items kept in the saddle bags, I've been keeping them locked. I've just been very fortunate that nothing's been stolen...or deposited for that matter!

I've locked mine since day one of owning my Av.

Passenger side holds tire changing bits, jack, extra oil, jumper cables, hitch mount & ball, magnetic 12v amber emergency strobe, tarp & collapsible camp stool.

Drivers side holds HD tow chains, bungee cords, ratchet straps, varying lengths and diameters of rope, pack shovel, machete, battery powered emergency strobe and mechanics gloves.

I don't like my stuff to grow legs, happened once, that was enough.

I fixed my tailgate lock and lock it anytime I'm near civilization.

Always locked.  Also  lock the center console due to CWP.

I miss that feature on my '02, used to lock my wallet in the center console.

I still leave driver's side saddle bag unlocked, I've had an Avalanche for almost 15 years and never had anyone mess with it unless you count some idiot stealing my custom European style Flint 4X4 license plate off the front bumper in the GM Flint Assembly parking lot.

I've only locked mine to check the lock functionality.  Never had anything come up missing.  Store a large flashlight, ratchet straps, bungee cords, blanket and breaker bar with lug-nut sized deep well socket plus factory jack and other tire changing tools.

I want to say I do most of the time, but I dont.  I will when I think of it when traveling.  But for the day to day, never do

I put a lock box under the small side back seat, painted it gray, lined it with foam.  I'll post a pic.
