Why Amber DRL's?

I think they look cool and may aid in identifying fellow members on the road, but I'm hardly fascinated by them. Perhaps others are :cautious:.

;)

..mine are still stock!!

I avoid the BLUE's (although I have to admit its a very nice color) to avoid the ticket potential....
....only municipal emergency vehicles here allowed to have blue colors on front of the vehicle I believe.....

Oh wait, this was one of those rhetorical questions, wasn't it :rolleyes:

:p

OOOHHHHH! It's a "WHo's In The Club" thing...why didn't someone just say so in the first place. Kool by be me. Now what's the part # and where can I get it. Is it an easy install?

Das not right, Rich!! I don't bite!! (UNLESS you are female, and attractive, in which I only nibble gently, and leave marks where they cannot be seen!) ;D
You get some :love: for that though!! (y)

Yep, our cold is finally coming to an end!! It has only been down to -30 C the past few nights!! ;)

3157/4157NALL at Autozone (cheaper), Pep Boys, Wal-Mart. Very easy to install.

I like the look of an all white front, so amber is not for me.

But then again, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

smartalec=on

Why not? :2:

smartalec=off

Other colors will probably get you a ticket, as Yak pointed out (otherwise, I'd like blue as well).

With so many full size GM vehicles running around with a DRL out, it can be viewed as a little proactive replacement. And if you get the NALL, LL = LongLife, they'll probably out live stock bulbs by quite a bit.

Think of the "Space Madness" episode of "Ren and Stimpy:"

I covent thee Amber DRL...

And good quote, "...beer holder." Classic.

>:D

Because ambers are just cool! ;D

And you must post a picture of you truck with your ambers! >:D

We must have pics!!!!!

:B:John in Oregon :B:

BTW....Jimmy...Welcome to the club!

I really like the look. Actually heard about them in '99 in the Silverado/Sierra thread on Edmunds. Had them in two Sierra pickups before I got the Av. :cool:

OOPS! Don't let ygmn hear that; it'll go to his uh..head... >:D >:D

KingVolcano:
Be careful with those blues... You may not immediately get pulled over but it is called "PC to stop"... (Probable Cause), in some areas at least. Just like fuzzy dice hanging from the rear-view mirror.. :-[

Check out the spec for these bulbs here....

The 41 series has longer life... Mine are from my 2001 Silverado...

Thanx AV2500! I'm a fairly new member, but the things I've learned are unbelieveable. Did the full time DRL mod about an hour ago, took me about fifteen minutes, then went to Wal-Mart and picked up the amber replacement bulbs and put 'em in. They didn't have the long life ones, but I'll keep checkin'. I think it'll take some time getting used to as I was kinda liking the whites.

Hey KingVolcano, noticed your from BeanTown. Is it legal to have the Blue DRL'S there? I'm not sure what the rules are here in Vermont, but would like to see what the AVY looks like with the Blue DRL'S.
