This is going to be GREAT! Hey Chief; we can pick up our packet from you on the trip down to Ore. Don't worry about shipping it.

Man, I'm really looking forward to this trip. I am totallyEXCITED!
Ahh damn ... I think I just wet myself ...

;D

How can a Fish wet itself? >:D

I'm getting excited to. Had to go to REI and buy two more Park Passes and pick up another binder. If I get one more registration I'll be out of all the brochures and stuff I got from parks - what a great problem to have!

The guts to the binders are at Kinkos getting printed. I thought about doing the old slip into the office after work thing but my ethical side got to me. I should start putting the binders together tomorrow.

The shipping/completion order will be in the order you registered. The person who registered first (AvaLance) gets their binder made first and so on and so on and so on.

SoCalCindy because you are only a partial registration you don't get the binder (sorry) but you do get the trip guide.

Just a little more than three weeks away! Yahoo!

I have pricing on those spare tires. If anyone needs the 265/70R17 to keep going on the cruise (they are blackwall) the cost is $55.00 for the rubber. You'll have to pay Bubba's garage for the mounting and balancing where ever but that sure does beat the $160 to $200 you'd probably be charged out there IF they even had a tire.

:9: OH BOO HOO! I'm so sad I will be unable to attend. My GF broke up with me and I don't wanna go alone! My dogs can't come either. :9:

I'll look forward to living vicariously >:D (for now) and trying to make it for the next BIG cruise!

Y'all have FUN FUN FUN! I'll be parked at exit 174 when you go by! Y'all welcome to stop by for a cold drink (I'm 1.8 miles off the highway) and bathroom break if you wish. Take good care!

Gary

AvyNut: sorry about your GF.

You wouldn't be alone if you came along: there'd be 15 other AV's filled with sympathetic souls and similar stories.

Actually there are two or Avalanches that are going "stag"

Great news! ?Discount Tire in Lynnwood, Washington has allowed the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club to borrow two 265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler tires for Wild West 2002....

IMO Discount Tire is the way to go.

A week after we bought the AV, we cruised on over to Discount Tire and bought a road hazzard on all 4 tires.
I don't remember what the charge was, but it is normally around 10% of the cost of a tire. I think for all four, ours was about half the cost of a new tire.

Plus, unlike most other tire dealers, they have a 100% replacement for the life of the tire, they don't pro-rate the replacement.

For my T/A, I didn't like the price of the tire they quoted me over the phone, so I went to tirerack.com, printed out an invioce, including shipping to my door and they met the price, even when the tire was over 50% less than what they wanted originally.
Around here in AZ, they are the best.

We will also be driving up Thursday morning, leaving Livermore at around 5-6 AM.

Maybe we can coordinate ?the group of us Bay Area people creating a AV convoy to crater lake >:D

WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're up for a mini cruise. Just stop by before going over the Benicia Bridge. We can coordinate at the Meet N Greet next week. I just have to convince my people to get up before dawn

Are you camping at Crater Lake? We're staying in Prospect at the historic Propect Hotel south of the Park. Still haven't made arrangements in Eureka. I don't think it will be at the KOA.

It's only three weeks from today! ;D

We're staying at the Quality Inn in Eureka on Sunday and Monday nights. There AAA rates were pretty good and the facilities look nice on the internet.

We're in Prospect Thursday and Friday nights as well as Crater Lake was fully booked when we first tried there.

After reading this month's issue of Outside magazine, I realize we'll be right in the middle of Sasquatch country. Chances are we'll spot one; they are bound to stick their heads out to see 14 AV's travelling back roads!! Any prizes for spotting one, Chief?

Hey Chief:

I like that there are now 46 days left for late registration and 23 days left until Wild West!! ?Does the signup form now have the capability for people who miss out to go back in time and join us once they see how great it was?!

Brendan

I wanted to test out my time machine mod on my Av. >:D

I've fixed the page - thanks for letting me know...

No problem, Chief. Just something that made me laugh. While I'm finding errors in club pages, you might want to take a look at:

Special 4 Day Late Registration: $12.00 per AVALANCHE (not per person) WITHOUT a National Parks Pass

The PayPal link still charges $125, but for a minute, I thought there was a special reduced rate.

Brendan

Okay, I'll stop proofreading and get back to packing for WildWest...

hulztger,

We are camping at Crater Lake.
Staying at the Super 8.
And Staying in a kabin at KOA.

Yea we will talk about how to meet up on the 22nd for our 400 mile mini-cruise >:D

We were #15 ;D

and I thought the people was 37 and we brought it up to 41 ;D

Just doing our part ;D

Nope - it's 14 - one group dropped out... :(

Wild West trip packages will be in the mail tomorrow for most people. Two or three people will be getting back order slips for t-shirts :C: so they will be waiting for you when you arrive at Crater Lake.

Be looking in your mailboxes next week.

Eric & Jason - I'll hold up on sending yours as requested. Maybe I can hand deliver them if my stinkin' replacement instrument cluster ever shows up!

No group rate at the KOA folks -- :C:

However that will be the location of preference in Eureka - many people indicated they preferred to camp versus staying at a hotel.

Wondering what those kits coming look like? Well I was up late putting them together...

Ready to start stuffing the binders:

Holy organization! I think Chief will need a full time assistant soon, if not already!

OMG!!!! I have got to show my Durango Owners Club buddy this link so he can see how a big event is ogranized.

Just so you know Chief, I for one want to thank you for putting so much time and effort into this meet. :B:

Thanks for the kudos folks. I set up checklists that will be going with the binders in an effort to make sure that people that ordered a Park Pass get their Park Pass, the right size t-shirt shows up, they know what's back ordered out of the kit, etc. etc. etc.

I just want the event to be a success. It's the equivalent of our first annual meet - but on a smaller scale.

General conclusion working on Wild West - no one person will be able to pull together a National Meet on their own. It's going to take 5 to 10 people working very closely together...

I wish I could make Wild West 2002 :(

BTW ...

We are just about done with the kits for Southern Rendezvous 2002 ;)
