Chief,

My wife just called and said we got our binder already and she was extremely impressed with the amount of work you obviously put into it. I can't wait to get home and see it.

Our binder is a Leaf Green (y)

She is talking to me on the phone as I type this, and even I am saying WOW  and I haven't visually seen it yet.

Amazing job Chief!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back ordered Items for us were;
Oregon Map
California Map
"Surprise" I won't let this one out of the bag Chief.

I found that deal last Friday. Ordered three more shirts. I didn't quite make it to $50 for the free shipping. So I threw (pun intended) in a flying disc to get over $50. The flying disc cost me about $0.30 ;D Something for the kids to throw at the dog. I mean throw to the dog.

So we will be in full attire, well shirts that is, for the Wild West 2002 (y)

Well almost full attire, I didn't see any onesees for the baby

Wow!!! Chief you went to a lot of work just got my stuff in the mail you have every thing one person would need keep up the good work

Here, here! We got our binder today too, and it is VERY complete. Can't think of anything else I would have put in there, and there's a lot in there I wouldn't have thought to include. This is an incredible effort, Chief, and I don't think you should feel bad for all the time and $$$ that went in to this. It will really pay off. (Also makes this feel like a professional organization and not a rinky-dink affair.)

See you all soon!

BTW, we got the purple binder.

Hey chief just got my package today, great work! i feel like james bond or that guy from mission impossible with all that stuff! anyways i want to thank you for all you time and hard effort to put this together, it's really paying off! thanks chief!

BTW, i got the baby blue one... so who got the red one? >:D

We got ours tonight as well, a black binder.
Kudos Chief for a job well done. Very complete. Got the T-shirt too. My youngest daughter can be seen modeling it above ;D

Counting down the days.

Very cute kid - thanks for the pic!

When you get your binder make sure you go through the trip information. You'll find gas station, car wash, restaurant, hotel, campground, pharmacy, etc. etc. info for Klamath Falls, Yreka, and Happy Camp. There was far too much information to list for Eureka, and you can use the tourism guide for more info.

Also - when you enter the National Parks remember to tell them all you need is the little black fold up hand out - you've already got a copy of the newsletter (except for Lava Beds that gave us nothing  )

Again - thanks for the kudos everyone. I want everyone to come away feeling this was professionally done and not just thrown together.

Chief, when would you like to get together with us locals to hand out the trip packages?

I was going to suggest next weekend (not this weekend). Your t-shirts had better be in by then >:D and I can recruit some people to help me out with upgrading my Avalanche! >:D >:D

My dash cluster FINALLY shipped yesterday from California. So I've got to get my odo and hour meter swapped out first. Going to be quite the project. Tape player, steering wheel buttons, and the Denali cluster on my Av.

Who wants to play! (Chief - who is very clueless in these matters)

We've got 14 again! ;D ;D ;D

Welcome back one of our cancellations!

Awesome!! Indeed, welcome back former cancellor! We won't think less of you!

Chief, was this the one that you were banging your head over having just sent the binder?

Yup - so in the end it was club money well spent. :D :2:

COOL!!!! 14 again (y)

Can't wait for this to happen. The wife and I have been shopping for items we think we will need.

We are thinking about using the rollerblade knee pads for the Caves, anyone got any comments on that?

Those will work. If your knee pad equipped than you can check out Hopkins Chocolate and the Catacombs with a lot more comfort. I went last year with no knee pads and I'll tell ya - crawl across a'a' lava for a while without and you'll understand why I'm making such a big deal about having them!

Same thing happened to me when my WW binder was delivered. Luckily, I caught the note in the mailbox before the post office closed. I was able to wait until 15 minutes before they closed when my mail carrier had returned with his truck, and they were able to go hunting for it. You can't wait an extra day, now can you!

Brendan

(Man, there should be an insomniac forum...)

Ahem - I believe Wild West starts in just 13 days!

ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH! So much to do before then.

Gotta wash, wax, and polish the body, vacuum the carpets, treat the seats, protect the vinyl, treat the tires, change the oil, repair the dings..... only 13 days..... not enough time.....somethings got to be dropped.... NOT

:B:

Okay... I'll wash my Av too. I dunno if I'll wax it. I'd like to treat the seats to keep them fresh. But here's the other thing. My Av has @7000 miles. I doubt I'll drive another 500 miles before Wild West, so my so-called "7500 mile service" will come do somewhere on the trip. As I recall, this is just tire rotation and front/rear axle fluid level check. Should I get this done before I go, or rotate my tires during one of the "free times" on the trip. :)

Brendan

Yea we are also scurrying along trying to get every thing in order for this trip. Found some bright flashlights with rubber handle grips for the caves.

Going to go buy a second tent, and other misc items. Trying to go through the list and see what food we will have to bring for the campsite nights of thursday and friday. and and and .........

oh yea and wash the Av before we leave.

Yes - especially if you Avalanche is 4WD, it is VERY critical that you have that done as it is a key component of your warranty.

I would have the work done before leaving. In fact I'm going to have an oil change and full inspection before I leave.

We had and Edmonton Chapter Meet and Cruise yesterday; washed the truck the night before, polished it up early on Sat morning, and then it rained within an hour of leaving!

Watch your e-mail today for another Wild West update. There will extensive information on the Florence/Sour Biscuit fires. Although they shouldn't have any impact on our route, there is the potential to impact our route on Sunday through Happy Camp, however the fire would have to make a massive run to the south, something that is considered highly unlikely due to prevailing winds this time of the year and terrain. Most of the containment of the fire is on the southern line, with an eastern section compromised last week.
