Will it really make a noticable difference?

Ok so after some surfing on ebay it looks like it can get a Volant CAI and a Magnaflow exhaust for around $800 shipped.  Is this gonna add some ponies to the AV that I will notice or give me some extra GPM or am I just wasting my hard earned $$$$?

I think you'll see minimal gains. ?I have the Volant and FM40 exhaust. ?If anything you'll gain a lead foot.

It'll definitely add hp and tq that you'll notice, mpg probably 1-2 depneding on how heavy your right foot is ;D, but the power is defintely more noticible.
Definitely sounds like a great deal.

You have to remember when you are trying to move a tank it takes alot to make a big gain in what your are looking for. Look on the bright side.....it will be a new mod added to the list.

No noticeable difference other then increased noise IMO

I say expect a decrease in MPG.....

as if it increased MPG Chevy would have done it to appease their CAFE numbers

Back when i first got my AV i had it Dynoed before after an Intake and Exhuast upgrade.. I got a grand 8HP and 10TQ and the rear wheels which you CAN feel but, mainly you get a lead foot because you love how it all sounds. LoL

Actually, I'm surprised at 8 hp, did you have the high capacity air box?

I agree with you.  It only hurts the wallet to try otherwise though, especially if you like a more aggressive sound.  :D

I had the basic stock sirbox availible on the 2003 4x4 non-Z71...

I found out from a guy who worked K&N that i met at a parts show this one time that the claimed up to 26HP gain from their intake kits in their ads is based on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. That truck apparently had the worse designed factory intake on the road and that the average gain from any intake kit (including theirs) is only 10HP... He seemed pretty serious about that...
