Will The 2500 Front Bumper Fit On The 1500?

I know that it sounds like a lame questrion, but i was wondering if you can re-place the 1500's front bumper with a 2500? are the mounts the same? fog light place ments? if not what needs to be done? thanks guys.

What's wrong Red? Got some repairs to make? >:D

BTW, down there in your sig, is that water I see coming out of your foglight holes? :rolleyes:

i found this in a different post.

look very closely at the front bumper and i think you'll see the difference

The only difference I can see is the rectangular cut out just below the bumper line. I would think everything else is the same. Why do you want it? :B:
 
the 2500 has 3 extra intake holes in it... here let me post a photo...

look closely and you will see a main opening in the center of the bumper and 2 smaller openings on each lower side of the main hole but next to the tow away hooks.

the main reason i bring this up is because with out the fog lights in place my truck was running 30 degrees cooler then everybody else (wild west 2002) and i'm sure that those 3 hole may provide a cool airflow and keep the 5.3 liter cooler. ok ok so the real reason is because i ran into a pond at the wrong angle... twice. :rolleyes:

True enough. And with the extra vents, not only should there be less wind resistance, but there should really be a lot less water resistance! >:D

I have 1500 and he has a 2500 that is mod. with
http://www.valanca.com kit.
the blue av in the pictures is my truck.
that bumper is based off a 2500 bumper.
it will go right on your 1500.the only thing that might need modding is the lower middle bumper brace that you can do without.
 
hey thats a really really nice truck you got there. so are you selling those bumpers? cause if you are i am very interested. do you think you can send me an e-mail or private message with pricing and info on your kit? main things i am wondering about is if you got one in cladding...(grey with the bumps) or if they are all smooth? and a few other things that i'll write you in a bit. thanx alot, great ride.

Bringing this up from the dead, but has any one put a 2500 bumper on their 1500 for looks or performance? The lower bumper openings are great to let cold air run over the engine keeping it cooler.

Depends on what you are asking, if it's the Bumper Cover I pretty sure you can make to fit. Also all 2500s had lower cladding.

Next question why are you trying this.

PS if you post in pretty red or blue letters or in all CAPS I ignore the post.
 
Well If I find a used 2500 bumper before I find a 1500 I just wanted to know. I don't really want to have to paint all of my plastics.
