What is the best tint? 3M,Madico,SunTek,Llumar,........or what?

I live in Dallas, what is the best place 2 have it installed??

THANKS

:B:

??? A installer told me that 3M was no good ???

You left out Llumar...

Not sure what constitutes "best" in your book. I have Llumar, life time warranty on the film, the work, coast to coast... seems enough for me.

Good luck!

Anyone ever try those pre cut kits for tinting windows?

I'm L:eek::eek:King for a tint that will not turn PURPLE or fade and will resist scretches. ?;D
That's the cheap stuff you buy at K-Mart and put on yourself. I doubt you'd have a problem with any reputable tint shop. We had 3M on our '88 Cutlass Calais from Sun Tint (don't know if it's a chain), for 8 yrs. It was put on when back windows were still usually done in two pieces, and was starting to separate. I took it in and and had it re-done prior to trading it off. Took the original receipt...no charge.

WoooHooo!!!

My 100 post and it's actually a decent one. ;D

TOY.

I have Sun-Guard on my AV. I am at 30% on the front windows and it matches the back windows almost perfectly. Sun-Guard also guarntees no fading, scratching, or bubbling. I had both windows done for $60, but that was in the winter. You find prices higher as it starts to warm up.

Good Luck. AV's look really sharp tinted.

I have 3M on my AV and had 3M for 12 years on my Honda. I had not noticed any fading, scretching, or peeling. Good luck on your choice.

Llumar, Solar Gard are two of the most popular for these reasons:

1) they are prepared with a scratch resistor
2) lifetime warranties
3) metallized tint (so it wont turn "purple", or fade, or bubble)
4) block up to 98% of UV rays
5) block out up to 58% of the heat
6) special adhesive bonding susbstance to keep the tint attached
a 4 door car/truck/suv about $120-$180

i found a quote for $200. the tint does not fade or turn purple. it is made up of 100% metallic product. the stuff found for house window tinting. the price was for the darkest limo style tint for the 2 rear window and the rear. with medium on the driver and passenger front.

Well I spent three weeks looking at window tint and installers. I choose Llumar Proshield half metal half color.
I used AltaMere in Lewisville TX on 121 as the installer. I talked with 7 diffrent installers in the Dallas area and just about ALL said that Llumar and Madico is the best. AltaMere uses a cad program and a computerized cutter to cut out the tint.
IT LOOKS GREAT and no rough edges NICE & CLEAN.
The Llumar has a life time warranty.

I have been using Llumar all may life. Never had any fade or problems. Got my front to windows done on my new AV for $40. I only wanterd them to be 50%. Anything darker I have a problem seeing out the windows at night. I like the clean stock look!

I just paid $99 + tax for the fronts and the rear. Included free pick up and deliver. Hard for me to get to those places when they're open. Trying to remember the brand.....crap I'll have to go look at my invoice. :cautious: No wonder I couldn't remember the brand...never heard of it before - Diamond. I have used them before with no problems and it does have a lifetime warranty, so we'll see.

I talked with a guy that would come out and do the install in my drive way...........................he never called me back :8:, what a dope. I WAS going to use him. ?

From what I understand it is the ammonia in products like Glass Plus or Windex that can cause the tint to turn purple. I found a product from Stoner called Invisible Glass that the manufacturer states will not cause tint problems and besides that it does a great job of cleaning.
