Wood Dash Kits -- Any Installation Tips?

GUEST
I just bought a wood dash kit for my Avalanche. While it came with instructions, I've got to believe there are certain tricks of the trade or tips not found in the bare-bones instruction sheet. Anyone out there have experience installing these kits with any pointers for me? : :B:

I installed a kit a while ago...liked it when I was done. The best hints that i could give you would be ...
1) make sure the pieces line up perfectly where you want them to be, depending on the size of the piece sometimes tapeing it down keeps it lined up.
2) this was the error saver for me...remove as little if the bcking as possible to apply the piece, that is line it up, tape it down and work from one side to the other removing a little bit of backing at a time pressing with your thumb to apply and using your fingers to to keep it straight, this will keep the part you have not installed yet from sticking berfore
you have it where you want it..does that make sense??? ???
3) take your time and be patient ( I had a problem with this as I wanted it done yesterday!!)
good luck...

As always...Keep AV"N Keep Mod'N :B:
