Would you buy an Avalanche over again?

You've purchased a 2007-2011 Avalanche; would you do it over again?

On my second.  So yes.  2003 and a 2013.

I would only buy another Avalanche if it comes with a 10 year transmission guarantee. i owned a 2002 and had the transmission replaced twice. Then i bought a 2007 and replaced the transmission twice also on that truck. Apart from transmissions and fuel pump failures, they were both great trucks. But twice is enough for me.

Of course!  I love my '12 Avy, and really wish they were still made.   The problem I'm having with finding a replacement is that the Avalanche is shorter than a full size truck.  It barely fits in my garage right now.  I'm having to downgrade to a mid-size truck just so it will fit.

To be honest, I'm holding out on the hopes that GM comes to their senses and resurrects the Avalanche with the new 2020 body. Then by 2030 maybe I'd be able to afford to upgrade...

Well, I up and did it...I sold my Avalanche and bought a new Ford Ranger.  :(  I hated to do it, but I had to give up waiting for the Avalanche to come back. Of all the cars I?ve owned over the last 50 years the Avy was right up there with my first car (?69 Camaro) as my favorite. If Chevy decides to bring it back I?ll most likely be in line to trade in that Ranger for one!  (y)

I have enjoyed some of the features but overall have not been super happy with the plastics quality and leaking bed covers.

Hello again radoc!
Leaking bed covers? Are your drains clear? How are the seals? Read this post about water management and come back with questions/observations about why yours is leaking https://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?topic=34739.0

I would definitely buy a new one if they sold them. Just sold my 13 LTZ after 7 years

Still lovin the '13 AV, but when buying time comes again, and I'm faced with no new AV option, I think I'm going to get an f-150 raptor.  I came to the chevy avalanche from an F-150 long ago, so back I will probably go...

So, I had 3 Avalanches - 2003 2500 2WD, 2005 1500 4WD, and 2008 1500 4WD.  I put over 180,000 miles on that last one - "Ruby".  And I never thought I would get rid of her. I LOVED that truck.

But I took her on a long trip pulling a cargo trailer through the mountains.  And the old gal just couldn't handle it.  Overheating Oil, Water, and Trans.  Barely made it back and it was just too much for her.

So I had to pass her on and found a barely used 2015 Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L & 4WD.  She does what I need (tows with no problem at all) - but she's not a long term gal, err... Truck.  Oh well.

Yes. Need to make this one last until I'm ashes. My 2013 LTZ almost couldn't be better. Would like to tow more but it doesn't make much difference now. Love it.

I'm on my 3rd.  :B:

Congratulations Loggie,

What did you end up buying?

I was thinking about something the other day. The main thing that made an Av and Av was the midgate. In 2004, GMC also developed an Envoy XUV with the midgate, but this one had a power window inside.

I have seen lots of "renderings" of what a 2019/2020 Av would look like based on the new Suburban...or even a Silverado, both of which are made better, and have more power and bells and whistles. My question is...why doesn't someone just get a midgate from an Av, Caddy, or XUV and mod a new Suburban or Silverado to include it...then you get a modern vehicle with a midgate.

I don't think it would be that hard to do for someone with the right expertise and experience?

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I think the cost would be way too much....but would look cool. Hey you could pitch it to diesel brothers  >:D  They do crazy crap like that

This is my 2nd. I've always wanted one and finally bought one last year. It was cheap and a real pile of crap but I fell in love with it. A buddy really wanted it so I sold it to him and bought an 80 C10. Drove that for awhile and then found my 2011 Avalanche. Everything I wanted. It's so nice. All I've done so far is stereo equipment.  Love it.

:deadhorse: As far as I have read and seen there was never a 3rd Gen AV planned. It has been since 2012 when we read that 2013 was to be the last year that rumors started from a few diehards and optimists that each year was to bring out the next gen Av.....there are many, many older threads discussing those rumors..seems to come up at least once a year. Usually with some SEMA concept AV, smaller concept on Colorado frame or salesmen confusing the High Desert Silverdado package with a new AV etc.
