Body dropped, fast bagged, tucking a whole lot of 23" rim...impressive...

I'm sorry but that looks rediculous!

I'm sure I'll get hammered for this but, yeah, that looks dumb. I know everybody has their own preferences and likes/dislikes in what an automobile should be but isn't the Avalanche all about practicality and being purposeful? You couldn't put two bags of concrete in that thing, speedbumps alone would be a challenge and forget about towing. Plus, I'll bet the ride is lousy.

If my ride height changes, it'll be in the other direction.

Now go ahead and smite away >:D

I think that looks great. (y) No way can it be driven like that. He'd rip his rocker panels off on the first raised manhole cover. Must have air or hydralic lift. ???

The vehicle is equipped with four corner slam specialties bags, with a nine inch extension, so going over speed bumps isn't really a problem....oh, and if you've never ridden in a truck with bags, anyone can tell you that the ride is wonderful, unless all the way down or up for that matter.
:)

As far as workmanship that thing is fantastic. You said it also had a body drop?? I swear the Left Coast is coming up with all the great ideas... I feel the Right Coast is always behind the times :E: I like the look and it takes alot of engineering to lay frame. My S-10 with bags and a 4 link came close but couldn't get that extra inch :E:

You are correct about the ride on bags.. at 80-90% the ride is pure caddillac!! Actually Caddy does have 4 bags in it ;D at 0 or 100% you are riding on 2X4s or at least thats what it feels like. Some go up..some go down..others leave it alone. Just remember it takes engineering above and beyond normal to get results like this.

Smite? For once I agree with you Joe! ;D

Ditto what they said, looks ridiculous.

I agree 100%...and the other amazing thing is (as I just found out) that the wheels are 24", and it is body dropped BUT STOCK FLOORED!!!!   Absolutely amazing job, just impressive!

STOCK FLOORED!! That means they channeled the body and rewelded the floor pans BELOW the frame rails. This is one custom shop!!! I would love to see or hear if this is a customer's truck or there shop's show truck.

If this is a customers car then this shop is A+

Thanks for the shots..

Bonedog

btw: For those that don't like slammed or droped trucks... remember there are people that don't like lifted trucks!! Don't put down someone for there ride because its not what you would do. That truck you see there has to have close to 20K in suspention work and body work if not more... that wasn't bolt on that was custom built!! Please don't hate because you don't agree.

Correct, it was built by Ekstensive Metal Works for a guy in New Orleans, and the floor pans were rewelded below the rails, so thru and thru, this is incredible....I just love the fact that people who AREN'T into lowered cars/trucks always slam anything that doesn't conform to "Standards", meaning custom....

I don't fault anyone for what they do with their vehicle but I don't get this one. ??? Why sacrifice all the convenience and utilitarian aspects of a truck like an Avalanche?

I mean, yeah, drop 'em as low as you want but isn't there much better candidates for such treatment? Isuzu Amigo or Rodeo, Ford Escape, Honda Element........you know, cars and SUV's that aren't worth a crap for towing or hauling to start with. That way you aren't boogering up the ability of a "purpose" vehicle.

I dunno, maybe I'm just getting practical in my old age. Either way, I'm not hating nor am I disagreeing............I just don't get it. ???

In my opinion, not everyone buys Avalanches for utility/hauling. I bought it because I needed the leg room (I'm 6'8"), and needed room for my two big dogs...I didn't buy it to haul anything, don't need to tow anything, and overall, want a slammed, big truck.

Fair enough and I can appreciate that. I stand corrected and a little bit more educated. (y)

I hear ya on that.. I have been trying to explain myself since 97 with my affection for lowered trucks. Started with a 94 S-10 bagged and 4 linked, then was an Explorer that was straight suspention droped, then came my blazer which was bagged and now my Z71 which is done with all Belltech.

Trying to explain why you drop a 4 wheel drive confuses people sometimes. My answer.. TRACTION!!! Starting line launches in 4 hi or auto 4 is great for low 60' times and no tire spin... want to road course?? Auto 4 it and keep up with the imports. Heck look at Audi and Suburu.. all are low and both have auto 4 or all wheel drive.. so does Jag. I like em low for on road handeling, love the auto 4 for traction. I wouldn't slam a daily driver anymore but will put one down any chance I get. That truck is the extreme end of slamming. Just like guys with 11" or higher lifts.. thats the extreme end of doing lift kits..its not for everyone but it is a show of customizing talents.

not my thing, but hey, you can't ignore that someone put a TON of time, sweat and $$$$ into it. impressive as heck, you'd just never get me in it (driving or otherwise) ;)

I agree with you, most people don't understand why in the world you would drop a car/truck anyway, but it is my personal preference, and in my opinion, looks great on most vehicles, extreme or not...

You can do a fantastic job of installing a screen door in a Submarine!

the thing is rediculous and if all you can talk about is the workmanship then it does not say much for the vehicle usefullness! and those rime are even more rediculous!

personally I find it an insult to the Avalanche the only good thing is that it's a WBH which is not even a real Avalanche anyway!

Why is the vehicle not usefull? Why are the rims ridiculous? Or are those just your opinions?

It's my opinion! I just think that if you take a great truck like the AV and mod it in a way that takes away from it's versatility than why bother buying one. what a waste of money and resources!

The guy should have used a S10 or Silverado and done the same and it might make more sense. but to take away the off road capabilty and load capicity and towing.

I'ts just ridiculous!

The colour Sucks! It's ugly! I hate it! ;D

Again, how does it take away from its versatility, with bags all the way up, he's at a 2" less than factory height, so that's out the window. Its stock floored, so there is "less" of a roominess/space...The midgate still folds down, the bed is stock, so where is the loss of versatility? Plus, with SS bags, he can load/tow without a problem? Off-road capability? What off-road capability, I can't go over a curb in my stock 4x2 WBH without hitting something, so that's out the window as well? Again, I ask, what versatility/utility loss does he have?

Also, are you saying that having an S-10 or Silverado and doing the same mod might make more sense, but the same modifications to an Avalanche do not make sense? Odd...

If that guy is in Cali then what off road driving does he need?? Cali is the home of low riders and custom trucks. Some people did buy this truck for the looks and attention over the utility/versatlity!! I am a prime example... I hardley use the midgate that why I will be replace with an audio system, I live in NJ and the closest thing to off road I get is a construction site on the Parkway. I need 4WD only for the snow. I went down 2/3" and lost nuthing!!! My rear end is still at the factory height, just the body is lower, and the front only lost 1" of factory undercarriage clearence. It looks lower because the AV body drops well with a kit but the suspention stood in the same place.

Alex is right.. your theory doesn't hold water... also what is wrong with the color?? Its Arrival Blue... same as the color I have. Its a factory color and is one of the sharpest. I am glad GM discontinued it..now I have one color that alot of others wont have.
