WV WWW XIII Discussion

As of right now, we don't have the weekend of March 21 available for WVWWW.

Darn it  :E: I did find out why we can't get North Bend the weekend of the 21st though...

March 20 - 22, 2015
Women's Getaway Weekend
North Bend State Park
A weekend full of activities designed with women in mind. Programs include hair cuts, facials, kitchen tips, arts and crafts, and much more.

A couple of other options would be Canaan Valley resort, they have lodge rooms open the weekend of the Original Dates. I realize that is a much more hefty drive for our friends in Ohio though  :(

It is also 15min from Blackwater Falls if we wanted to do it there and make up for the Defunct GTG in 2011. Or we could stay at either and tour both.

As far as the majority, the original weekend is the only one I foresee most being able to attend. I wish I could make it to where we were all free and could have it at North Bend our original weekend. I don't want anyone that wants to come to have to miss out  (n)

Next year is going to be crazy...set the dates and we will do everything in our power to be there.  April would be tough for us for this event...would rather do march.

I would prefer March as well, particularly the weekend we started off with of the 20th-22nd. If we had to move parks I would be okay with that. As of right now, if we wanted to stay with that weekend we would have too.

Blackwater Falls has lodge rooms and Cabins available that weekend (I know this is a bit farther for our OH friends)  :(
It would be a chance to make up for the Defunct 2011 GTG.  :D

As far as the WV crew is set right now, I am the only member available the First and Second weekend in March. Everyone else, including myself,  is free the weekend of the 20-22nd.

I know GBT wants to get it done in March, and I would as well as April is really busy for me with finals and getting ready for my Summer rotation.

Its still December, so we still have a little time to hammer out these details. I wish I could have done so 2 weeks ago and got North Bend, so technically it is my fault.  :(

Let me know if any of my gibberish makes sense and if the proposed changes would work

Since it appears that most others can make this GTG the weekend of March 20-22, we have moved our other event so we can make WV WWW XIII.

Terry, your great. I hate it had to work out like that.  :E: How do you feel about the proposed changes to the location?

Doesn't much matter to us where WV WWW ends up.  If Blackwater is the front runner that's fine with us.

Alright, Im working with them at the moment. I will keep everyone posted

Also, 02Z71 mentioned to me today that one of the concerns of Blackwater in the past is that the cabins only had one bathroom. I found this article this evening that everyone may want to check out! They've expanded since the last get together adding 13 new 4 bedroom cabins with excellent accommodations! They're very nice as well

I forgot about Blackwater cabins having only one bathroom.
The new cabins sound great if we can get one, or maybe two depending on how many people are coming.

I am good with Blackwater Falls and am good with March 20-22.

I am also in for covering the cost of one of the rooms in the cabin(s).

Also... we managed with 1 bathroom last time if we had to I'm sure we could manage again.

Alright, I called Blackwater Falls this afternoon (After work because I got called in this morning). They have oodles of cabins available for our weekend. They don't, however, have any lodge rooms available  :E: The entire lodge is closed from March-April for renovations... How many are absolutely against cabins? I know there are always a couple that stay at the lodge (myself included), but we will have a cabin this year. The smaller cabins are about the same price as a lodge room, they're not much more expensive.

Here is the price break down:
South Side Cabins
1 bedroom-$118.00 a night
2 bedrooms-$135.00 a night
4 bedrooms-$167.00 a night

All one bathroom, wood burning fireplace/furnace, full kitchen, pets allowed

North Side Cabins( All are 4 bedroom/2bathroom)
$300.00 a night

Gas Log Fireplace & furnace
TV, Telephone, WiFi, Complete Kitchen set up for housekeeping with Dishwasher
All North Side cabin are non-smoking and do not permit pets, Washer/ Dryer Combo

With the rental of 5 or more cabins we get a 10% discount on the rates mentioned above.

Due to the abundance of cabins and the reasonable prices for even 1 bedrooms, I don't see an issue with the lodge being closed, other than breakfast sunday morning, but there is a place called the "Bright Morning Inn" that has excellent reviews as well as a place called "The Breakfast Nook" that looks good as well. I was going to call both tomorrow to see about groups and what their policies are.

Let me know if any of the above doesn't work, and if I don't get any blatant "nays" then its set  (y)

Which cabins are you talking about sharing the North ,fancy or the South? If we split a North one it may work as a kinda meeting place with the WIfi and all ..... just saying...

Preference for the fancy north side cabins here.

  --OldVMer

I am OK with no lodge rooms.

I too would prefer the new North Side Cabins - especially for the host cabin.
Even though the new cabins cost more, I am in for a room in a new cabin.

If we need more than four bedrooms, we could get two or more of the new four-bedroom cabins.
Or have the extra rooms in the cabins on the south side.

I remember Oglebay... a party cabin and a quiet cabin.

:abuelito:  :abuelito: :abuelito:

I called to see exactly which cabin numbers were available this evening. The woman I spoke with was "supposed" to call me back a while ago, but didn't and when i called back she had already went home for the day, but the man I spoke with said she would be in tomorrow for a "few hours." As soon as I get the exact numbers I will get a block of cabins together and they will be ready to reserve.

GBT has agreed to reserve the "host cabin." In order for mom and Ashley to both come, they have requested I reserve a 2 bedroom cabin. Nothing against anyone, they just wanted a small cabin of their "own" I suppose. Maybe they're planning on booting me out as well... I hope there is room on the host cabin's couch.

Ashley    :beating:  Me
