Year-to-year difference in Bose systems?

New member here, so apologies in advance for any mistakes. I'm trying to figure out why the Bose system in my 06 Avy sounds so much worse than the (apparently) same system I had in an 07 Silverado. I've seen mentions in this forum about midrange speakers, and just from the sound of that I'm thinking that might be the problem since I have great lows and shrill highs with little or nothing in between. I would have thought the systems in an 06 and an 07 would be essentially the same, but I don't know that for a fact by any means. Thoughts and suggestions are welcome, and thanks!

First welcome to the website, hopefully one of the site stereo gurus will respond shorty to you question.
If I was to take a guess it might be that there was a slight change between 2006 and 2007 if the Silverado changed generations at the same time as the AV since that is the time first gen AVs ended and in 2007 second gen came out. Then the Silverado may have different acoustics and insulation from an AV since the AV is built on the Suburban platform and has more of an suv then pickup features.
Did you get both vehicles as new or buy them used? Could someone blown a speaker?
If you can't check all circuits yourself or don't have a local stereo shop you trust, I would contact customer service at Crutchfield and talk to customer service to fix or replace your system.

Is it a stock headunit, 6 cd player, Navigation.
