I've got 2002 Av, Z66 4x2 [1500]

Need some tire suggestions. I'd like an aggressive looking tread, yet quiet enough for mid-long commutes. I've seen the exact same model avalanche with bridgestone duelers, it looked pretty nice. Both Avs have stock rims

I had planned on replacing my tires soon, but I noticed tonight my radial wires are showing 6: How about tire replacement should I go for broke and replace all 4 or 2 at a time?

Thoughts? :

if the tires that come with the Z71 suit your fancy go to your dealer and buy take offs from a Z71.... here in AZ you can buy a set of 4 rims and tires (17's) for $400.... so figure about half that for just the rubber....

I paid $300 for Hummer H2 take off tires from the Hummer dealer.... so take a look at what comes stock on different vehicles.... you can save a pile of money this way...

Since I have a Z66, can I expect any problems switching to a Z71 tire/rim combo? I'd be switching from a 16" rim to 17" rim then... correct?

So how do I get a hold of these tires/rims, just call the dealership /parts department and ask if they have any "take offs" Would they be called by any other name? Finally just a couple more questions about the take offs
- are they used?
- why such a good deal?

Thanks!

The Z66 has the same 17" wheels as the Z71....only the tire is different....

Go to tire and wheel stores in town....They will sell someone new tires and wheels...and give some credit to customer for thier stock wheels.....then they sell these stock wheels for more then the discount...

Try the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S's trust me, you won't be dissapointed. I though my Av handled well before, but now it's like it's on rails. Oh, uh, be ready to spend about $800 for a set of 265/70/17's. I got the white letters. That's about an extra $100.
