:eek:At first and still, we've wanted an Av. with the bench seat for various reasons. It was a hard to find thing, so we started to consider getting one with the buckets. Well, today, I did another search on GMBuypower, this time throughout Baltimore, almost exactly 100 miles away. I found several Z66's with the bench, and 2 that actually had a sunroof too!

And, to top it off, one of the one's with bench & sunroof is black with graphite cloth, just like the first one we were looking into. But, along with the roof, it also has two other options on top of it all, assist steps & roof rack.

Onyx Black with Graphite Cloth & Bench seat
-Z66, Conveniance, WL tires, Sunroof, Assist Steps, and Roof Rack
-Total: $34,376--whew!

So far, all the one's we had been looking at were in the high $32k to just over the $33k mark. Everytime I get closer to perfect with the options, I also get a higher pricetag! But, the invoice is $30,121.14 and there's the $2002 rebate also. So, if we could get invoice (a good chance) it's about $28,119.14, not too bad. But again, like I said, it's in Baltimore and we're 100 miles east in Delaware.

So, we'd have to have a dealer here, probably the one that already has the 4 Z66's, see if they can do a swap for one that they have. It'd be great if they could, because the bench and sunroof in black & graphite w/ the Z66 pack., is one very nice vehicle!! Now, we just have to hope that 1st) we can afford the payments, and 2nd) cross our fingers that the dealer can even get the Av. Or, we may still just go with one of the other's ones we're already looking at. Can you tell we need to get things figured out?!

Oh, also, for someone who said you'd never find an Av. on a dealer lot with a tan bench seat, Fox Chevy in Baltimore has a White Z66 so eqiupped and it also has a Sunroof. Talk about hard to find!

Some option combinations are like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So we had to decide what we really needed versus what we preferred. We got a few extra options, but now we're glad we have them.

BTW - the sunroof is a very expensive option. We saw very few Avs with sunroofs.

PS - I have a question: why isn't the bench seat model offered in leather? The back seat of the bucket seat model is in leather, so why couldn't the front bench seat be leather as well? Really, the bench seat is not a bench seat anyway - it's more like two bucket seats with a little min-seat in between.

Hey Beach...you really need the tan clothe bench seat Z66...looks much nicer than the black! I wanted the Z66 Red/Tan...no other options but everyone I found was 10 hours away. Finally settled on one with assist steps and roof rack. I could live without both but my kids use the steps and my wife likes the roof rack so what the heck. I will say this...once you buy it your are free to live again! It takes way too much energy to find the perfect truck...buy it and enjoy. I miss my 94 4.3L Ext. Cab Silverado with 130,000mi....naaahhh! It was a good truck but I'll never look back. This is nice!

Amen to that! Had the bench been available in moo moo - my Av would have had it - however hiney heaters were important to the spousal unit...

I too used GMBuyPower and found the perfect Av about 100 miles away. (light pewter / graphite Z71, bench seats, w/o sunroof, w/o OnStar - I didn't want my cell phone built into my truck!).

Other options up for grabs - we got the roof rack (thankfully no rust), assist steps, and white outline tires - all OK by me.

Yes, I too wish they made the bench avaliable in leather.

We simply drove the 100 miles and bought it! Yes, I'm a bit worried about local dealer support - but so far no problems. As I do all of my own maintenance, hopefully I'll have no need for the local dealer !!! Historically this has been the case - in 1987 I bought an S10 Blazer, and it has never seen a Chevy dealer since!

Go buy your Av - and let the fun begin :D :D :D

I used GM Buy Power to prod the dealer in locating my Avalanche. I printed out what was available in the area that matched what I wanted, went to the dealer equipped with the info, and then played the game. When I poo-pooed the one on the lot, I told them what I wanted and then waited to see if they passed the test. A fail would have been, "well we checked but none are available, you know you'll really like this one once..."

Well they passed and got me the one I wanted.
