It's been a long time since I have done any mods on my Avy so i've decided after all these years to convert my 2002 din and half stereo opening to a double din which has been the standard for a very long time. I want to add a carplay enabled system and of course they only come as double din.

I found a 2003-2006 bezel and radio cage on ebay.
Even with these parts there is quite a bit of modifications to make it work.

I will post pictures.

Great mod, I converted mine many years ago so if you have any questions...

Interested in seeing how this comes out, would like to this mod someday.

I am about to add a few more pictures. I am at a standstill because JBL backordered their new carplay system the cp100 on me.

Test fit the ac controls and removed the plastic tabs that are no longer needed

Not sure why a couple of my pictures are turned on its side but if you click the link to the picture it is correct.

Will continue trimming and test fitting the AC controls this week.
Looks like I will need to make two spacers for behind the AC control mounting areas and also sand down the bezel so the front of the controls sit flat.

Yes.... Trim the bezel back about 1/2 -3/4 inch between the red arrows. For ashtray cut little tabs from some Aluminum and offset the ashtray cover lower until it clears, see pictures..

Are you using the factory speaker wires or adding amps?

Thank you for showing me another option!

Then you will need to bypass the factory amp.. Did you know that?

Then it must be bypassed already.. How about the speed sensor wire for the navigation?
