I'm having a time trying to figure out what size tires will fit on my truck. I've got a 2010 LTZ that came with 22" wheels and 285/45/22 tires on it. I just put a 3.5/3" lift on it and am trying to find tires to fit the 18" wheels that I bought. I'm not 100% certain, but my research tells me the original wheels had an offset of 24. The new wheels have an offset of -12. The company I bought the wheels from told me 285/75/18 would fit. That was a no go. So we backed down to 275/70/18 and they still don't fit. The front rubs on the bumper and the running boards. Our next step is to just try the next size down.
I'm wondering if the difference in offset is what's causing the problem. Online calculators tell me that the original tires were 32.1" total diameter and the last ones we tried (275/70/1 were 33.16". The same calculator tells me that 275/65/18 would be 32.06" in diameter. Should that fit or is the difference in offset going to bite me again?
