I would like to install a Joying Android Head Unit in a 2005 Chevy Avalanche. But all I seem to find cabling for is a 2007.  Has anyone done this before?  I searched the forums but didn't really find anything that was much help.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

I have an Android head unit in my 2002. All I did was bought an after market radio install kit for a 2002 from Advance Auto Parts and it had the correct wiring. I simply connected it to the harness that came with my radio and that was it. You'd also need an antenna adapter.

Is that what you're looking for? Maybe I misunderstood your question.

Will need to get an installation adapter for a 2005. This will provide your chimes as well as your Retained Accesssory Lead.

If you have the BOSE system you will have to either bypass the amplifier that is mounted in the center console or get a compatible interface to use it.

PAC makes adapters to fit your radio to the factory wiring.

No that helps. Thank you!  :)
I contacted the manufacturer of the HU I plan to install to see what they will recommend.  Now I wait.
But I think you guys are getting me on track with what I need to do.

They (Joying) asked me if it had an amplifier and I told them I wasn't sure. I'm glad you were able to clarify that for me.  I really wasn't sure where it was.
It does have the bose system.
So Looking at amazon this is what I'm coming up with that I "think" I need.
let me know if I'm missing something.

It looks like it's not going to be as bad as I had originally anticipated.  And they will be giving me  wiring harnesses that attach to the radio itself.  I really wasn't sure if they were or not, but since I was able to get this part cleared up. I can go ahead and get the other cabling that will plug into the vehicle itself. I really don't want to cut any harnesses if I don't have to.
Once I can get all the logistics worked out. My plan is to solder/heat shrink the wiring.
I found a video on you tube where someone did basically the same thing..
This guy does it in an 03. So I'm not sure how different it will be.
I will say, that I really don't care if on star works or not.  I don't have a subscription.

The dash layout does look very similar.

I lost OnStar when I hooked mine up, but didn't care either. Never used it and I think they dropped service on the older styles anyhow. I love mine... has GPS, Blue tooth, DVD... i also have it hooked up to dvd headrests for my kids in the back seat. they can each watch a different movie, same movie or play a movie through the HU on all three screens and then the audio come through the truck speakers.

Here is my set up:

You shouldn't need the much more expensive Onstar version. Vehicles earlier than 2006 can't use onstar anyhow as far as I know. You will loose your rear sear audio if you have it. You can contact the company and ask to be sure.

You SHOULD be able to with the right adapter just plug it in and it will work once you have connected to your head unit.

If you want to see your amplifier, pull the drink holder and look to the rear of the compartment at the very bottom. The amplifier is under the storage compartment which is under the arm rest.

The subwoofer is mounted to the front of the console. If you put a mirror at the front of the console and look at it you can see the cute little sub woofer and the grate over the front to protect it.

Also realize that the '02 is wired differently so what HeavyD1977 says may not fully apply to your truck. 2003-2005 are all the same as far as I know. 2006 will be slightly odd ball since they went to the full on CANBUS that year.

I know poster stated they didn't care for OnStar but just as FYI the older AVs were able to get a conversion kit from the dealer to switch from analog to digital so they could continue OnStar if the owner desired. Not sure if you can still get those kits but it enabled my 2004 Av to continue to use OnStar.
