So, engine light came on, recently started blinking, so I knew I had to get it looked at. Opened the hood to find a dang mouse had chewed through some wiring, im assuming causing a mis-fire.... what do you think the odds are that the catalytic converter got fried from the gas dumps? when I re-connect the wiring, if done correctly, will / should the engine light clear itself?

should add, i have driven it around 200 - 250 miles with the light on.

Read the code and figure out why that light is on.  If you don't have an OBD2 scanner, an auto parts store might even do it for free.  It could be just an o2 sensor or a dirty MAF/MAP sensor that you need to clean.  If you see exposed metal in the chewed up part, you need to fix that before something worse happens.
