Can passenger?s captains chair be repurposed as driver?

Have an ?04 with a torn driver?s seat and found a donor vehicle where the passenger seat is immaculate. Concerned about driver?s seat controls. Anybody do this? If not, what about just trying to replace the lower seat section? Thanks...

Unless the frame or controls are broken you may find it easier and cheaper to replace the seat cover and maybe the foam itself from your local upholstery shop or order a set of covers from a place like The Seat Shop or Katzkin. Several members have used them with with great results.
