hey guys! new to the forum. just got me a 2002 cladded 4x4 from my buddies auction with only 125k on the clock! was wrecked along the driver side. just got it back from body shop and finishing it up..cant wait to start driving it! it seems to be in really nice shape!
but anywho...while putting everything back together i couldnt get the low beams to work at all. after verifying fuses and relays and even bought a new dimmer switch and bulbs..still nothing. i get power to the plug with the dimmer switch turned on. i came across the all4onhi mod and figured id give it a go while waiting for turn signal assembly to come in (also read on here that could be the problem). i grounded the driver side yellow wire and they both work...i ran an inline fuse holder with a 15amp just to be safe. my question is....what causes the lows to go out in the first place? and should i just leave the light mod in and not even swap the turn signal switch? i can return it no problem...but im curious to see if that was the problem anyways. but after installing..i dont think i can return it (it being electrical part). im guessing grounding the yellow wire bypasses the ground somewhere and of course you get the all 4 on highs mod as a bonus...i just want to make sure its safe bypassing it like this just to make them operable. im taking it for inspection next week sometime so i had to get them working one way or another.
