Digital Speedometer/DIC.

I have an 07 LTZ. Over the years I?ve added so many options, like RSE, heated steering wheel, heated washer fluid and Bluetooth via newer VCIM to name a few. Recently I?ve entertained the idea of upgrading the instrument cluster to maybe the Escalade version to add the digital speedometer, but it?s way more work that it?s worth. However, during a recent search here I saw where this is an option on the later year models built in the DIC. If so, what would I need to upgrade in order to add this option?

I have a question about the cluster replacement, I know I can get it rebuilt through various shops, but was thinking of selling my truck and thought about buying a used working cluster from a junk yard. Does the millage follow the "used replacement cluster" ?? Or is everything read from the ecu since the odometer is digital?

The mileage is stored in the cluster.

When I bought a replacement cluster for my EXT, the vendor programmed my mileage and VIN into the replacement cluster as part of the deal.

After that, it was plug and play and everything was working and correct.
